Do you enjoy hiking, or simply walking for fitness?

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

@ChrissyRyan
Dear Chrissy:
I love hiking, especially during our extremely long Summer days...
,,,the main draw for me is enjoying the beautiful surroundings, but the
side-benefit is certainly exercise and keeping my body fit and good shape.

That's me. I love being out in Creation, sunshine, fresh air, and exercise. I try to find places where no one has been for decades. Sometimes I find places that no currently living human has ever seen. I enjoy that.

I enjoy hiking. I started out as a hiker in college before I started mountain biking. There's just something about being outdoors in heat and humidity of Midwest during the summer.

I think I will take a "walk in the woods" later today.  It is usually relaxing.

I used to do a lot of hiking back in the day.  My wife and I met on top of a mountain in the Rockies.  The mountains here are kind of wimpy, and so am I these days.  But we still do go for a walk in the bird sanctuary as often as we can, when the weather is nice.

That's where we met.  Yup, up at the top.  There's an easier way up around the back side.

I love hiking, I'm not currently as fit as I was and am having a bit of an issue with sciatica but as soon as that's sorted I'll be back out there.

I like all sorts, I'm pretty close to the Lake District and the Scottish borders so often head up that way but most of my time is spent on the Northumberland coast or the national park.

@big kim I am always in and out of the bird reserves too. Mostly up the Northumberland Coast. It has been a source of healing, a place to relax, to unwind and I find it good for the soul.

I went for a walk in the park.  Wore my fuchsia clingy top, white pants, cute hiking shoes, and a light down filled jacket.  Also wore a long wig and put it in a nice ponytail.

Loved the fresh air, saw some birds, a rabbit, and I enjoyed the walk in the woods.

I mostly walk around local nature reserves or canals. Occasionally elsewhere. I'm happy to do very long walks, but my partner isn't so much into that. But I'm getting him out more, so given time 😺

walking on your own can be nice too though. It can help you think through things that are troubling you. I have never had friends who were the outdoorsy type, well there was one but it was short lived.

I have always enjoyed hiking.

When I was much younger and living in California, we summited all of the highest peaks in Southern CA. Our longest hike was 53 miles in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It took 8 days. There were 12 of us total, with 3 adults. We did a lot of training hikes before that trip, climbing some rugged trails, but it was fun.

Here in Colorado, I summited Pikes Peak twice (once in high school and once in the Army). Also Long's Peak and another that I don't recall the name.

In South Dakota, it was more purposeful. My hiking was to prospect mining locations away from places that the locals frequent. As I got older, my hikes grew shorter, and now I just can't do like I used to.

But I'm not done yet. Summer is coming, and I will be back up in the mountains in search of the shiny.

Sometimes I really like walking around parks and public places wearing clothing and cute shoe colors and styles that are of colors most people would think are female looks.  Normally I just want to blend in but at times I do for some reason enjoy wearing the looks with colors few guys would wear, if the outfit looks fine on me.

Plus the long hair in a pony tail, or in wavy flows just are nice and lovely looking.  Of course, skirts and dresses at work are just fine for a nice, conservative business look too and they are feminine.  We are so fortunate we can wear all of these pretty clothes.

Funny thing, we can wear guy clothes too if we so choose and no fuss is made of that.  Have a guy wear a dress and a five o'clock shadow, well, he may be laughed at.  Seems unfair in a way, does not it?

I like Geocaching. It keeps you walking, and you get the sense of discovery when you find one. 🙂

I have a cache of my own out there. I get a lot of finders leaving notes that they've never come across one like mine in all their time caching.

Would like to try that Appalachian Trail, or a good part of it.  May do that.  If Redford could do it, Chrissy can do it.  (Refers to "A Walk in the Woods" film.)

The trip was broken up into segments, so we only hiked from 1 to 5 miles in one day. Leave in the morning, hike through lunch, then make camp for the night. We carried everything we needed in our backpacks, from tents to food and medical supplies. It felt strange being away from civilization for eight days, but we often encountered hikers and horseback riders who were doing shorter segments of the trail.

My dad worked for NASA during the Apollo missions. He was an engineer, and when NASA finally put a man on the Moon, the greatest accomplishment they had ever achieved, he was with me on that trip. One of the adults was listening to the radio and said, "Welp, we have now been to the Moon." That was all the fanfare that the news got while we were out there. We didn't miss being away at all.

Now that's a cool dad story. Engineer for NASA, fantastic!

I would never have thought you would be old enough to be out there on a trail when the landings happened.

I don't think my feet could take multi day hiking these days.
