Quote from: Emma1017 on April 28, 2026, 03:57:29 PMI am going to be in London for two days, June 8 & 9. Where does Laura live?  I would love to see her and anyone in the area, if it is possible.

She is in Yorkshire Emma but in the wilds! Definitely North! A bit of a trek from London on a 2 day visit.

That's what I thought. Sadly, I am not heading to Hadrians Wall to excavate.  That would have been easy.

I am only in London for two days on business. It would have been nice to see Laura while I was in the UK.

Give her my warmest wishes!

It was a lovely thought Emma. She'll be a few hours South of the wall but a 2 day visit isn't long enough unfortunately. I'm not sure which hospital she will be in mind, I'm just assuming it will be a local one.

Enjoy London if you can! I think Davina and Charlotte are Birmingham way but again, it ain't London, closer to you though. No-one is close to me ha ha! I'm stuck up in the forgotten about North East corner of England as you know.

I wish I had more time. I'm scheduled to do a four day lecture on the Queen Mary 2. They're paying for the trip and it finishes in Brooklyn, NY. Just not enough time. 😢

I would love to see Lauren and all of you.

oooooh, the Queen Mary 2? I've always fancied travelling on her, and I don't like the idea of cruises really. Arriving in New York must be special.

I must admit, I wish I could sit in on your lecture! What's the subject? Roman antiquities?

The lectures cover the history of money, the financial markets, treasure salvage, and archaeology.  I only have to do four 45-minute lectures.  The ship lands in Brooklyn, NY, less than 5 miles from my house.  Because of the westerly direction, I get seven 25-hour days because of the time zone changes.

I get the cruise free, but when I priced what the cheapest cabin was, it is cheaper than airfare to Europe!  Imagine if the group from Susan's had a cruise organized?

I would sign up for a trans take over of the poop deck!

Your lecture sounds very interesting Emma, I'm sure your attendees will love it.

I'd be in for a cruise.
We could do a fashion show and make up seminars. Or, just hanging out and meeting our friends

Just to let everyone know, I've heard back from Lauren. I know quite a few of you were worried about her.

She has made it through the operation OK but is still in a bit of pain and very tired. She likely won't be on here for a bit as she recovers but she's on the mend.

I told her everyone one was asking after her.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.
