Your blog is both comfort and inspiration, Alana. Thanks.

It is nice to experience the little feminine things.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

It took me four attempts, but I finally have enough hair to pull my hair back into a small ponytail. 14 months of growing out my hair is paying off. 🤩🥳

@Alana Ashleigh
Dear Ashleigh:
Having ponytails are a lot of fun... as your hair gets longer and longer you can then do many more things with your hair styles.....   braids, buns, etc.

Growing hair takes patience, it does not happen very quickly.

Head hair grows very slowly... about an inch every 2 months, or maybe 6 inches per year.

That is good to hear!  I have not grown my hair out longer much this year.

This has been the best week so far in my transition. I'm really starting to notice the changes happening to me. Fat redistribution is really becoming noticeable to me... I felt like a teenage girl today with how concerned I was with my appearance. I wanted to make sure I looked my best. I never felt that when I was pretending to be a guy. Monday starts six months of being on hormones. I can't believe how fast time has gone.

The last few weeks, the feeling of being a hormonal teenager had gone away. This week, that feeling came back. I don't know how many times I felt like crying for no reason. Certain things hit me in the "feels" so hard. My mood can change quickly, it makes my head spin. I feel like a teenage girl with how I catch myself acting sometimes.

What kinds of things, AA? I ask because I am not on HRT and this kind of stuff happens to me all the time. I tear up at the smallest, and dumbest of things. I often think there's something wrong with me. I was watching a video on Remembrance Day (Veterans Day for US folks) and there weren't enough Kleenex in the world. In case you're interested, this is the video:

I was a sobbing, quivering mess by the end. Movies are also a huge thing for me. I have had cis women look at me funny and say "You're more of a woman than I am" because I just can't help it. What does it for you?

A sad story, a story about a hurt animal, a sad meme. honestly, I've felt emotional, and wanted to cry for no apparent reason. This week, it feels like the hormones have gone into overdrive, and everything seems to get me emotional. I've felt so many feelings and emotions this week.

I realized last weekend that a bra is now a required piece of clothing for me now. I was dealing with too much discomfort not wearing one. Luckily, I have a few really soft bralettes that I love.

Now that the colder weather is coming in, they become more important to me. Not just to keep warm, but for modesty too. I don't want to poke anyone's eye out.

I hope you're finding the bra nice to wear. I wore as soon as it was feasible as they feel very affirming. Are you feeling similar? The soft bralettes or t shirt bras are very soft and comfy. I like the ones from a thin foam material as they add a little  shape and size.

What no one told me was how much they hurt if they get cold from icey winds! The sting was evil!!

I do find them very affirming. The bras I wear are t-shirt/bralette bras. They're super comfortable. I have a few that are lined and they do add a nice shape. I pulled off my work shirt off yesterday, and saw my reflection in the mirror with my bra on, and my hair pulled back into a ponytail. I enjoyed seeing  more feminine reflection in the mirror. 😻

It's been an interesting day. I cried this morning over a sad story I read. That hasn't happened since the summer. I've felt so many ups and downs, and so many emotions this week. I really didn't feel different for a solid few weeks, until last week when it felt like the hormones went into overdrive, and puberty 2.0 really got going.
