I did a thing this morning. I went and got my legs waxed. It feels euphoric to have silky smooth legs again. My legs have been tingly since I left waxing salon. It feels so nice to not have hairy legs.

The amount of work you put into your legs, Alana, you must literally be like Xena: Warrior Princess.

I've been unusually quiet on here this week. I've had an unbelievably crazy week at work, and have been dealing with some intense puberty 2.0 feelings. I'm working different hours for the summer. (ugh)
My summer has officially begun, and I'm starting it with a 5k this weekend. 🥳

Chrissy, it wasn't too expensive. I only got the bottom half of my legs waxed. It was $50. If I had my entire leg done it would be close to $150

I called in sick today since I wasn't feeling good last night. I'm not sure if it's hormones, or stress from work, but, I'm having a rough go lately. I'm feeling dysphoria today as well. I haven't experienced dysphoria since the early fall.

Sending you much love and hugs. It must be something in the stars as I've felt the same yesterday and today. The dysphoria just hits and feels so deep sometimes. But you're a beautiful woman just like I am. I hope you feel that again soon along with feeling better. I think being run down makes us vulnerable to those thoughts, so in a way they are just symptoms with that explanation.

You will have blips along the road with disphoria, I pretty sure I won't be rid of it until I am rid of 'IT' if you know what I mean!

I Love my Giant TCR speed machine. I have it kitted out with electronic Dura Ace gearing. It's a super lightweight thing. Which is why I cannot ride it at the moment. I wouldn't dare take it off tarmac!

Sarah, I too have a TCR which I bought 2 years ago after my accident.  It's ultegra di2 with hydraulic brakes.

I just did a quick search and it supposedly has a 129kg weight limit.

Carbon fibre is extremely strong as long as it isn't struck and fractured.

I had an old carbon fibre rim brake wheel which I overheated coming down a long descent which distorted the braking track making it unusable.

I wanted to see how strong it was so I whacked at it with a sledge hammer.  The hammer just kept bouncing off. I ended up having to saw the rim to break it.

Having said that, I'm still a bit wary of thin seat posts, carbon fibre stems and regularly check my fork steerer tube.

Yeah, I have managed to crack a seat post myself. The thing with Carbon frames is they can crack beneath the paintwork with no obvious sign they are deteriating unless you look very closely. The prospect of the frame snapping while flying down hill at 40mph on a rural country road isn't worth the risk when I'm so far over that limit. I have rim brakes with carbon wheels too (don't like disc brakes) but they have a metal brake track. besides I would probably have a heart attack carrying my bulk up a hill currently! I have not ridden for over three years.

When you see sudden suspension fail on F1 cars with the carbon struts you  can see how brittle it can be, carbon brake discs can shatter as well .

No, dropper seats are exclusively for MTB's. It's for the down hill sections so you don't get a seat up your jacksie on the bumpy bits! Roadies don't need it as going down hill you want to be seated and tucked for best aerodynamic profile and uphill you're often up out the saddle standing.

I'm having a much better day today. I'm feeling a ton of euphoria, so I'm pretty happy. I went to bath and body works yesterday and bought two new red lippies. I tried one of them out today and was surprised that it didn't make me look like I was wearing red lipstick. It was a nice, subtle wash of color. Seeing red on my bottle of water after I took a drink, and it put a smile on my face. I wear something nude on my lips everyday. I got out of comfort zone, and it was worth it.
