Isn't this exciting... Hello everyone. It feels strange (and strangely comfortable) to be back at it again after so long being a "normie". I'm just shy of 40, and have not had an active interest in cross dressing for many years now. But after becoming single recently, I felt it was perhaps time to give it another bash. The back story...

I first tried on women's underwear when I was about 13 I think. No idea why, but thinking back, I was always kinda weird. I remember even as young as 8 or so, I would wear jocks backwards, maybe imitating those aerobics ozstyle videos. I loved the feel of it. Anyway, fast forward to puberty, and I wandered into my mother's wardrobe when I had the house to myself. It started with pretty basic stuff; regular knickers, just regular old cotton undies. Until I started digging deeper into the drawers and boxes at the back. Little satin panties, the 70's style with the really low waist. Lacey bras and garter belts with stockings. Ugh, so exhilarating. At one point, I was in full kit, bra, panties, garter belt and stockings, when she surprised me coming home early. I had to dart out of her room, throw some clothes on just in time to sit on the couch like nothing happened. Haha, wow, what a trip. I sometimes dressed head to toe except for a wig and make up. Nice heels and a skimpy dress to go with the rest.

I had dabbled throughout my teens years, and here n there in my twenties and early thirties. But I mostly hung up the lace for a long time. I felt it didn't suit me, and it was "wrong" etc. But after recently becoming single again, the urge was back. I spent weeks on AliExpress and Temu, just looking, seeing all the pretty things. I finally made a purchase, and was nearly dying waiting for the packages to arrive. Once they did, I spent the night opening each package, and trying them all on. Feeling how soft the lace and frills were, the silky cotton, admiring the patterns running up and down the lace teddy and fumbling with the suspender clips on the tops of the stockings. I ended buying waaay too much, but I didn't care. I was just happy to be in my own little bubble, indulging in this old habit. For a little while, at least.

Who knows how long I'll keep doing it this time. But I have discovered that I'm really into vinyl and shiny things...

And I do apologize if this comes across as more sexual than some others. I know it's more of a lifestyle for a lot of people and I respect that.

Welcome!

Yes, online ordering makes it so easy to order stuff these days.

It was awkward when I was married because nothing at VS fit my wife and I didn't want to trigger her body insecurities.

She passed away from ALS. ☹️☹️☹️

I bought way too many panties going to the Victoria's Secret store in West Farms mall.

I'm transgender myself and have had similar experiences with women's clothing. For me the lifestyle and that aspect are intertwined though with the former being my main driver. I think many of us have a desire to look and feel hot so to speak and naturally womens lingerie fits this nicely.

Oddly I too love shiny stuff. It's not uncommon that's for sure. Transitioning has however massively changed my experience of such things. Altogether a very different feeling.

Hey secret_m,

Welcome to Susan's Place! I really enjoyed reading your introduction — it had such a natural rhythm to it, like you were telling a story to friends. You managed to make something deeply personal sound both funny and real, and that balance is hard to pull off.

Your reflection about "being a normie" for a while and then feeling the pull to explore again really struck me. That happens to a lot of people — putting something away for a time doesn't erase it; it just waits quietly until the moment feels right. It sounds like this return wasn't just about clothes, but about reconnecting with a familiar spark of freedom and comfort.

The way you described the textures and details — lace, satin, even that love of shiny things — made me smile. There's a kind of sensory joy in it that's easy to understand. It's not about excess; it's about how something feels right against your skin, how it reflects a piece of who you are.

And I appreciate your self-awareness about tone. You were respectful of the space and still honest about your experience, and that's exactly the kind of openness that helps people feel safe to share their own stories here.

However long this round of exploration lasts, I hope it keeps feeling just as affirming and joyful as that first night opening those packages.

Welcome home.

Oh, I'm so sorry to read about your wife passing, Marion. That must have been very tough. You're very considerate to not want to trigger her insecurities. Online ordering is the best!

There's definitely something magical about the feel of women's lingerie. It's always had this aura of sensuality, even before I even knew what that meant! The materials, the cut and shape, even the intent with certain pieces... It's undeniable how different they are to men's utility-driven jocks n boxers.

Oh Susan, your response made me smile. It's hard for me to not think of my experience and intentions as dirty or raunchy, and the general vibe of this forum comes off as more lifestyle than kink. I will always try to be courteous and respectful of others sensibilities. Not every one needs to hear about this dirty perv's darkest desires haha.

I actually really enjoy writing stories, especially ones with a sensual twist. I used to write little tales to lovers all the time, but have not done for a while. I think it was easier to write about my earlier experiences with that fun tone because they were such fond memories, when things were easier in all ways. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Susan

secret_m,

I'm glad you're smiling. That matters.

I want to gently push back on one thing, though: the "dirty perv" language you're using about yourself. You're not alone in that—a lot of people come here carrying that exact shame, worried they're the "wrong kind" of person for this space. But here's the thing: the line between "lifestyle" and "kink," between identity and pleasure, between what's "pure" and what's "dirty"—those boundaries are a lot more porous than we're taught to believe.

Many people here experience both. The sensory joy you described? The way certain textures feel right against your skin? That's not separate from identity—it's often how identity *expresses itself* before we have language for it. Pleasure and self-recognition aren't opposites. They're often the same thing wearing different clothes.

You don't have to choose a box or apologize for which aspects resonate most. The fact that this is cyclical for you, that it comes and goes depending on where you are in life—that doesn't make it less real or less worthy of exploration. It just makes it yours.

You mentioned that earlier times felt "easier in all ways." If you ever want to talk about what's harder now, or what brought you back after being away for so long, that conversation has a place here too. Not because you owe anyone an explanation, but because sometimes understanding the *why* helps make sense of the *what*.

You're welcome here exactly as you are—sensual stories, shiny things, and all.
