Sometimes when you are not careful, you pay for that carelessness.  I was over to visit and decided to help someone but got gunk all over one leg of my very nice jeans.  It did not come out with a little soap and scrubbing, and because of my lack of good judgment to not do that in any work like that but in old work outdoor clothes, I have paid the price.

Initially I thought I had nothing on my jeans, praising myself of being careful and not messy.  But somehow on one side the jeans were ruined.  I did not see that until after tools were put up and I washed up.

All well.  Now I have another pair of old work jeans.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Carbona Stain Devils may have saved your jeans.  I bought several different types from a big Walmart Superstore as they have different versions for different stains.

Heat will often set stains. Don't put stained clothing in a hot clothes dryer as that may permanently set the stain.

Odd thing, I had on one of my older T shirts but one of my best jeans.

All well!

Heat sets stains, I avoided that.

Dawn dish soap works well for pre-treating oil-based stains. Add just a little water to the soap so it can suds up. You might need to scrub with an old toothbrush to work it into the cloth. I let it set overnight.

Wash it in the laundry afterward. Then check before drying in case it needs another round.

I ended up washing it twice in cold water and letting the jeans air dry, they are very wet now.
I had to use my long nails to scratch away the caulk that was loosened up by the two washes
The jeans look okay now.  I did not think this would clear up.  Just used regular laundry detergent but I poured a lot of it and rubbed it into the caulk. 

Lesson learned:  If not an emergency do no work that may get good clothes messed up, no matter how much you want to do it.  I used those surgical throw away gloves when doing the work.  My hands were clean because of that.

Well now I can actually wear these jeans again when I want to!  Yay!
