Met a new friend like me

Met a new friend like me, her name is Marissa and she is also a pre op MTF transsexual. All started when I started going to a yoga class of hers 2 months ago. Then last month, she started to know me and told her I am a pre op MTF transsexual. She looked at me and said she is one too. Her story is like mine and came out at age 15. Dad treated her like crap calling her a failure. It was after her parents divorced she came out finally to her mom at age 15. Luckily her mom noticed things something was not right with her and knew she hurting inside. Mom accepted and got her help showing her support. It was not just her mom for support, older brother and younger sister were there for her. Her step dad too. Transitioned for 3 years having her FFS,BA and trachea shave at age 18 in July of 1997. Decided not to have the GRS like me. She is married to a great husband in her life that loves and accepts her the way she is. I have met her husband and family, great people. My husband and I are meeting up tomorrow night with Marissa and her husband. They have not met my husband yet.

What a wonderful connection to find, Nikki! There's something really special about meeting someone whose journey mirrors your own so closely — same timing, similar family experiences, even parallel choices about surgery. Those friendships where you don't have to explain the basics because they already understand are precious.

Hope the double-date went well. It sounds like you've both found partners who love you fully, and building friendships with other couples who get it is such a gift.

Went out Tuesday night with them and did go well. Agreed on everything talking about everything.
