I've been around here a while and not really shared much of my life being a furry. I've been in the furry fandom a couple of years now, which is also where I met my partner. We regularly attend a local furmeet in Birmingham UK and an annual convention here too.
We commission and collect art of our anthropomorphic animal characters which are known as our fursonas. Also for some We have fursuits which we wear to furry meets and conventions. My partner is purist and only has one, a bunny called Blueberry. I have several but only 3 suits. My main a raver kitty called Old Raveronomy, a bunny called Skittles and wolf called Serana.
I actually adopted Skittles from the USA and they were my first fursuit. Serana being a female wolf helped me immeasurably to explore my gender. Raveronomy is really the male version of me and was designed to capture me at that time. He does such a good job of this that it's such an emotional experience suiting in him and feeling a deep connection to who I was. I really love him and never expected such a bond in this way.
A lot of people embody characteristics and confidence whilst fursuiting which allows them to experience life in a way they would otherwise struggle. My partner is autistic and becomes a different person when suited. I think most furrys get a range of benefits, some very deep from suiting.
Anyways I hope that was of interest. I'll share a few pictures and furry art here too.
