A funny thought that occurred to me this morning:
I have some very heavy, messy snow to shovel today. It's going to be a lot of work. As I got dressed, I chose one of my more supportive bras, which has a wide band, thick shoulder straps and good coverage by the cups. It's a cute bra but it's far from skimpy and not at all frilly. The seamless spandex construction means that it won't be digging into me as much as some of my other bras would.
My breasts are large and heavy and bras are important to me now. They're a wonderfully affirming part of my new wardrobe but they also serve a functional purpose.
But never in my life could I have begun to imagine that I would think this way, that I would choose the bra I did this morning for the reasons I did.
