On the chocolate thread, I noticed that the 1960 advert for Fry's Turkish Delight listed the price for small and large bars at 4d and 6d. Given that an old penny ("d") was 5/12 the value of a new penny ("p"), that means that those chocolate bars cost 2p and 3p, respectively. In Canadian money, that would be 3 cents and 5 cents.
Yikes, now I feel OLD! "Yes, sonny, I remember when you could get that $3 candy bar for 3 cents!" 😂
