I still prefer f22 & f35.
I had a Mitchell Bomber take off from our local airport. Right over my place of work

We have f35's too but not seen one fly over my house yet. Seen them in the lake district though. I think the Eurofighter is more elegant but the F35 looks tough and stealthy.

Oh I love the B-25 Mitchells lovely looking things. Never seen one IRL though. From your side I've seen a B17, P51 Mustang, Catalina flying boat, C130's,C17's, F15's, F16's and F35's. Seen a lot more static US aircraft though. I particularly like the f4 Phantom, love the look of that one. Really want to see a B1 lancer one day. That thing is second only to concorde in the beauty stakes. Fabulous looking thing. I think it's even more good looking than the Vulcan. Not as manouverable though. The Vulcan was a thing to behold, Earth shattering noise!

Went to both castles though didn't pay to go in as back then money was poor. But had a look around which was nice. Also went to Seahouses and Cragside. Stayed at Ashington in the Premier iNn as was cheap!! Just a 3 day visit.

Guessing Bamburgh was the other one. I'll head up there at some point as it's another breathtaking one. We do have more than two though!

During multi-force training ops, we would be sitting in our tanks while Apache and Black Hawk helicopters hovered overhead and fired missiles at targets. Then they would clear out, and A-10 Warthogs would fly in and unleash their autocannons. They fired at 3,900 rounds per minute, which means they emptied their magazine in 18 seconds. And they are LOUD. Brrrrrrrrrrttt!

I think they fly this way from bases in the Cotswolds on the way to Wales and of course to the SAS.

I think it's worth 10p Chrissy I'm afraid, it's still currently legal tender so yes you can spend it. You won't get much for 10p these days though! It won't be rare. The old 10p coin changed in 1992, that was larger, still don't think you would get much for it though. It tends to be rare or limited edition coins that have value.

I mean you can buy roman coins here for a tenner or less!

On the chocolate thread, I noticed that the 1960 advert for Fry's Turkish Delight listed the price for small and large bars at 4d and 6d.  Given that an old penny ("d") was 5/12 the value of a new penny ("p"), that means that those chocolate bars cost 2p and 3p, respectively.  In Canadian money, that would be 3 cents and 5 cents.

I remember my mom sending me to the store to get a loaf of bread. It was 25 cents!

I'd get a $1 for school lunch. There was a 7-11 on my way to school and get 20- $.05 candies. Not every days probably more than I should

Prices seem to go up for most things over time.  Sometimes a lot, depending on how far you look back.

Everybody loves the A-10. I wasn't in the military, and it's one of my favorite planes.

I can't speak for UK forces personnel, who probably have a different view, but the A10 is tainted for me after two friendly fire incidents that killed British Troops. Whenever I see them I think of the awful stories.

It's silly really, it's not the planes fault after all.

Well, I wish I had something to report on here but as it's a British Bank Holiday and I don't like lot's of crowds I tend to keep my head down.

I'm in a much better place mentally this weekend.

I'm on week 9 of the conveyancing process for my house move. I'm told it takes typically 10-12 weeks to get a sale done so I mustn't be far from completion. I hope at least. Not looking forward to moving back in with my folks even if it is a temporary measure. I like my independence and it also means Sarah will have to stay hidden for a while. I'll be on here though, you aren't escaping me that easily!
