Low flying aircraft, I was sat on the sofa and a C10? flew past, from my 2nd floor flat I was looking at the side of it. What you need is my youngest lads old junior drag bike and fire that up, it was an RD 125 twin on expansion boxes and everyone complained it was painfull even at the drag track!

I don't want to fight noise with noise, I crave quiet. I'm a bit too sensitive to noise unfortunately! i have a pair of industrial ear defenders in my study so I can put them on and chill out, I must look ridiculous but needs must! So far so good, no noise from them tonight I might get lucky!

Quiet is good.
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Thanks Lauren. I've got it tonight so far. I can hear the birds twittering and apart from a low flying Merlin helicopter that shook the ceiling twenty minutes ago all is quiet on the western front

3-1 win! We have had a torrid season this year, I'd like to see the back of it really.

We have by far the richest owners in all world football and yet we aren't allowed to spend money and buy the players we need because of stupid rules from the Premier league to try and stop teams going bust. There's no way we will go bust, we're owned by the Saudi Royal Family! We've been doing well up to this season though. We've qualified for the Champions league twice and won the League cup too that was our first silverware for over 70 years!

Next season I hope for an improvement in squad and performance.

I've had a lovely day sailing round the Farne Islands and photographing all the wildlife. It is a magical place. I have however taken 1,809 photographs which is going to take me some time to work through!

Here's a quick little snapshot.



I will spend the next few days trawling through the images and eliminating all the pictures of boat railings, the backs of peoples heads and my own feet and I should have some gems I think!

The main thing is that the boat didn't sink and I made it back to dry land! There was quite a bad swell so it was difficult taking pictures from the boat.

Do those islands have lots of fjords?

No, they're tiny islands Chrissy. Totally uninhabited. Little lumps of volcanic rock poking out the North Sea. No fresh water on them other than rain that collects in a few pools. The one I landed on you can walk round it in 15 mins! On that island there is a lighthouse, a watchtower and a very old chapel though no congregation to speak of (unless you count Puffins!).

I had never heard of the Farne Islands.  But, from the name, I guessed they might be close to Lindisfarne, which I had heard of.  Sure enough, it is only a few km away.  Interesting place.  I am looking forward to seeing more pictures.

It is very close yes, you can see Lindisfarne and it's castle as well as Bamburgh castle and Dunstanburgh castle from the island. I'll nip over to Lindisfarne on one of my next trips so you can see what that's all about. Here's a couple more pics in the meantime.
