Such beautiful pictures. I especially love the one with the flowers and the castle in the background. You are quite the photographer!

Thanks Gina! Glad you liked them. The flower one was probably my favourite too. I got a few funny looks lying down in the middle of a field next to the path! They are just daisies and buttercups but pretty nonetheless!

There are far better images of the castle than I could ever make. In fact there is a famous J.M.W. Turner painting of it from 1798.

Not much going on today really. Been to the DIY shop to look at kitchens and stuff. I think I have my design nailed down now. I guess all I need now is the keys to the house! God it's dragging on! This should have been a simple move but here we are 10 weeks on and still not complete.

I really want to get cracking on my new pet project!

Thanks Anni! one of my favourite walks that one. You start from the little fishing port of Craster which is home to the famous Craster Kippers. You might just be able to see the smokehouse at the top of the road in this picture I took on my way back.

I might struggle as it's a tiny space and I don't currently own a wide angle but I will try my best. That's if I ever get in there!

It certainly won't be hard to improve it!

Such a lovely looking town! Thanks, Sarah!

Of course, I'll be on the lookout for Craster Kippers.

A mutual friend strongly recommended Henderson's Sauce (Hendos, she called it, adding it goes on everything). So I ordered some. We'll see how it does on kippers.

Hugs,
Anni

Town is a stretch! It's a teeny tiny little fishing village. You're looking at most of it!

Hmmmmm yeah, she is Hendo's mad she is! ha ha! It's a Yorkshire thing I think.

I don't know whether Hendo's should be applied to Craster Kippers, they are regarded as the finest kippers in the country, that could be considered sacrilidge ha ha! I'm not the biggest kipper fan actually. I love the flavour but I can't be doing with all the bones.

I've actually never had Hendo's before to my shame. I'll have to see what all the fuss is about one day.

Haha, can't think who that person was, Anni... *whistles*. If you ever find yourself in Full Monty country, Sarah, you should grab a bottle. For science. ;)

I am a big fan of Kippers. My grandad used to get them ALL the time. Mind you this was the guy who also used to swear by Tripe (you really don't want to know what that is) and beef dripping on sandwiches. The latter of which is actually very nice, but just don't ask what it does to your waistline.

Anyway... they have kind of a strong flavour from the smoke. I am not sure how much Hendos would add to them, if anything. Always worth a try though.

Sarah, I love your photography, but then you know this. You could have a sideline in making postcards from the UK. You would clean up!

I will search a bottle out Lauren. Anyone would think you're on the Hendo's advertising committee!

Shudder..... My gran used to make tripe, I'll never forget the smell and the look of the damn thing, Truly culinary nightmare fuel! We always have roast beef with hot beef dripping sandwiches at my mums house on Christmas eve. It's the only time of year we have them but my god they are friggin lush!

Haway man Lauren, you're just biased, they're not that good! ha ha!

I was told I will definitely be made full time at work though it might take a month or two to get clearance from the bean counters upstairs. It will be a huge load off my mind. I have to say though, if I could be part time still for a couple more months that would give me loads of free time for doing up the new house!

My buyers have signed their side of the contracts now and we are ready to book a date in. That side is sewn up now, I'm just waiting for a slight issue to sort out with my new house lease but it has gone to the land Registry to sort out. I hope they can work quicly otherwise I will be moving out and having to pay for storage until they do.

I have just booked up my first boat trip of the year to the Farne Islands on Wednesday, one of the premier bird reserves in the UK. So I might end up flooding the photography pages with lots of cute Puffin close ups soon. I can't wait!

Weekend look like it might be canny weather too😀

Congrats on the job and the house! I know both of those issues have been on your mind. And now you are another step cloer to having it resolved. That is great news.
