Pam Bondi has left the building.

President Trump has fired attorney general Pam Bondi, according to CNN and multiple other outlets who confirmed the news Thursday. News of the firing comes less than a day of reporting indicating that Trump would be letting Bondi go, citing frustration with her leadership at the Department of Justice, per the New York Times.

Sources who spoke to CNN said that Trump was particularly frustrated with her handling of the Epstein Files, a trove of documents detailing the business, personal, and financial dealings of deceased financier and child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The president was also reportedly upset that Bondi had not targeted enough of his political opponents.

While Bondi may have been laxer than Trump liked in seeking out his enemies, she was certainly forthright in attempting to prosecute people who supported trans rights.

I have my doubts that her successor will be any different. They have the same boss.
