A few pints in and I would probably enjoy the local drink

I'm near Geordie, It's pretty far from High English ha ha! I'll not start you off on the geordie dialect as that really will baffle you!

I try to avoid the deep south dialect. If you were to go some place like the Louisiana bayou even southerners get lost. It's a mix of southern, French Canadian and rocks in your mouth

I love the Southern US accent! I think most Brits do to be fair! Though it sounds like you might be talking about creole or something? swampy sorts!

When I was stationed in Louisiana, I had a friend who was a "proud Cajun". You couldn't understand when he was drunk (which was often). As Kellie said, it is a mix of Southern drawl English, French, and a lot of slurring. No enunciation at all. Every sentence is one long vowel with some grunting in between.

@Stottie Girl
My Dear Sarah:
As Kellie and LoriDee stated in their replies to you -  you are never alone here on the Susan's Place Forum.
Basically the more that you share on your Blog Thread and post your reply comments and thoughts around the various threads and topics you will find like-minded members here that can develop into friendships.  I have already seen that happening with you and many other members here, especially on the Member Blog threads where we can more easily "connect" frequently with others that are sharing our experiences as we continue in each of our life journeys.
My thought about this is simply "If you want friends, be friendly and be a friend and open up to each other."

It is a great joy for me to see that happening here with you and many other Forum members.
        ❤️
MANY HUGS and I am always wishing happiness and success for you.

Danielle [Northern Star Girl]

Quote from: Stottie Girl on April 15, 2026, 10:05:48 AMI'm fine Kellie. I do get blue sometimes and certain thoughts can trigger it. I was talking about being alone a lot in posts and I think the loneliness just got on top of me a bit.

I've buried it for now though so I'm feeling tip-top. Thanks for asking though.

Thanks Danielle, You are right, I am making friends here. I am sharing more about myself than I ever have with anyone else in the real world. You all know more than anyone else I know lol!

I guess where I live in the UK, I'm not near anyone, I don't have any face to face contact and that is what I think I am starting to long for and maybe more. One thing that is for certain though is I'm changing so I might build the confidence to get out there a bit more.

Thanks again Danielle

Sarah xx
