For almost 27 years I've been known and beloved in this community. I've taught the kids of hard-core liberals and hard-core conservatives. I've won the hearts of many conservatives over the years because I loved their kids.
I left the classroom 12 years ago and immediately became known as the director of a beloved environmental science school that essentially burned to the ground in 2018. Since then, I've been part of a team that were tirelessly to bring it back. We've created new programs that serve over 4,000 students. I literally saved the planetarium, although my "saving" mostly involve bringing other people onto the team. It's now thriving.
I've managed huge grants, major events, and launched many careers through the support that I've given to my staff.
And I choose to focus on those folks. I'm stubborn and unrelenting when it comes to people and issues that matter to me.
I'm wearing my knee-high black boots that I got for $20 a few months ago. I think I'll look pretty cute when I go out to dinner with a friend, right in the center of Redding.
