Sounds like amazing progress so far!

Finally Anna

Krista, I am reading your timeline with great interest and I make a note to myself about keeping a condensed timeline version of my journal.

I'll try....
Stopped crossdressing 2 decades ago.

Had 3 life changing events in 2 years. 2023 to early 2025

August 2025 Was on a holiday overseas and my wife went home before me so was solo.

I came across some 10 denier Italian pantyhose in a supermarket at low cost so I bought 2 pairs.

And I loved it. I added some tinted lip balm, some panties and a bra.

I wanted my ears pierced again as my holes had closed. I bought a cheap necklace and a couple of bracelets.

Red nailpoish was next and some gloss for top coat.

Mascara and my holiday ended. It was still August.

When I got home my wife was really suprised with the earrings but hated the other jewelry as it was obviously feminine.

I started growing my hair out.

Then in early October we went to a Lady Gaga concert and I looked up what to wear. Bicycle shorts, fishnets, joggers, women"s Lady Gaga tee and a glitter jacket with hoop earrings.

It was a fantastic night and my wife was freaking out because I was so comfortable and confident.

In February 2026 I came out to a friend when I showed her my red toenails. Another freakout from my wife.

I saw my psychologist and came out to her.

By this stage I was wearing women's underwear for 7 months, women's jeggings and jeans for 3 months, some boots, women's tees, tinted sunscreen and nude lipstick more often than not.

My brazillian region was laser cleared and my face followed.

I started getting my eyelashes tinted and my brows waxed and tinted. After the third visit my wife noticed. Again not happy.

I had a shellac pedicure with red polish in a salon.

After more discussions with my psych she thinks I'm likey trans or non binary and has referred me to a doctor who prescribes hrt.

I've been feeling a bit down this week and I'm on my own. I would have gotten my ears double pierced yesterday but the place was closed.

I'm sitting here tonight in lingerie typing with glue on nails which I put on this afternoon (square french polished if that matters)  wondering if I am making all this up.

It's not quite been 12 months.

My doctors appointment is on the 15 of August.

QuoteIs this like your timeline? Faster? Slower? Did some elements start earlier or later? I'm not judging my journey, but I enjoy learning about the way others have transitioned or are transitioning...or are living, without knowing if transition is for you.

Hi Krista!

I had a pretty compressed timeline... My realization and decision that transition offered me the only possible path to a life that held true meaning for me was pretty much made on the spot... I knew it was my path and was scared about wasting anymore precious time on anything less than the life I needed

2013... age 52 realization/transition... going out in public full femme... began with therapist support group as a route to hormone/surgery letters... began hair removal... laser and marathon electrolysis... began dating men after a lifetime of relationships with women... became public speaker regarding my experiences thus far in this new experience... cosmetic dental work ...attained my letters and consulted for hormones and got my trachea shave... deep breath and on to the next year

2014... Began HRT at onset of year... continued my job in male mode for the next ten months but lived full time femme anytime I was not at work... scheduled two rounds of FFS and GRS for 2015 to start at my one year on hormones mark... sold the condo I lived in to finance my surgeries... marathon electrolysis continues...ended my 17+ year career in October to prepare for the surgeries and began living full time every day...

2015... 27 hours of surgeries and recoveries... began living with my now husband... joined women's social groups...

2016... Married and living life!... dealt with some surgical complications... did some additional facial procedures, micro-needling and ablative laser

2017... vocal surgery

Those are some of the waypoints but, within this itemized list are the things more difficult to list... the fears... the doubts.. the fears...the rollercoaster ride of emotional highs and lows... and again the fears!... We all do this at the speed that works for us but, if I could reach back in time to the girl I was in 2013 I would tell her... Fear Not! All Shall Be Well 💕🌞💕

Let go of the things that no longer serve you... Let go of the pretense of the false persona, it is not you... Let go of the armor that you have worn for a lifetime, to serve the expectations of others and, to protect the woman inside... She needs protection no longer.... She is tired of hiding and more courageous than you know... Let her prove that to you....Let her step out of the dark and feel the light upon her face.... amg🌸

If you don't mind me asking.
The very condensed timeline.
Was it because you kind of knew all along (your whole life) and then it became obvious and you just had to...?

Hello Anna!

I knew something was up with me most of my life from a young age... spent much of my life ashamed of what I felt and trying to push it away, ignore it, distract myself from it... afraid of what it meant about me... 🌼

If at any point in my life the magic genie asked me what my one wish was... it would have been to be female... it took me over a half century to realize that I could be my own magic genie and my life was what I make it to be... 🌸

I had always viewed and filed away my deepest wish as an impossibility until I decided to finally listen to that voice inside that had always been there and explore things a bit more... I soon met the first transgender woman I had ever met... she was my age but she had transitioned 30 years before... she was happy... she was successful... she was living her life on her own terms and I knew immediately... I was going to do that too... and I was going to make it happen as quickly as I could!... 🌼

I have mentioned many times on here that I believe we reach a tipping point where our worst fears of how badly things could go are no longer as bad as the thought of hiding our true self any more... We are born to build loving connections to others... to the world... to nature... to life... to God as we understand God to be...and  to ourselves... to do that, we must first know... and be... ourselves 🤗

Ashley, I relate deeply to what you write and in principle it is a carbon copy of how I, in hindsight, look upon my life up until now. 💕

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

That is very true and it is how the human brain works. The denial/suppression continues as long as the presumed "cost" of trans acceptance is higher than the presumed "cost" of continued denial/suppression. Once that equation changes so that the denial is more costly, the brain lets go of the suppression and the real identity will surface.

Thank you for sharing!

As soon as I started down the path, so many epiphanies, insights and revelations came to me about my life up to that point and how this inner knowledge had driven so many of my actions and decisions all through my life... 🌸

As we come to find, know and unearth the long buried self...so very much becomes clear... 🌼

The ironic part is we can hold ourself prisoner for a lifetime fearing that "cost" when the truth is that deciding to finally "be ourself" is the first step to infinite "gain" 🌞
