The toppers are better-ventilated and clip in to cover the top (think women's toupee). Since I am missing hair at the front, I use wig tape instead of clips, and the back just clips in place.
They are available in varying lengths. My avatar is a topper with my natural hair sticking out from beneath it. I have curly hair too, so I have to straighten it to blend in with the topper.
