Can someone point me to "Late-Onset Transsexual talk" I can't find it?

Stottie Girl

I have no partner or children either. I suppose it should make it easier but it certainly doesn't feel easier! I am probably worrying about nothing as I hardly ever see anyone from the team in person and I won't be the only trans person in the council but the other girl is so stealth I didn't know she was trans! I would love to have the same outcome.

If you aren't intending to stay you could just come out there as a test run maybe? Or are you woried it might affect your references?

Welcome back, Tammy!

I honestly don't know how it works with references. If you leave and want to start work as your true self how does that work?

I genuinely don't know but it's a bloody good question. Maybe someone can chime in with the answer?

Hey Tammy!

I don't think we have a dedicated area for late onset but if you post a new thread with late onset in the title under the transgender talk or transexual MTF section... you should get lots of responses!

Hugs!

Let go of the things that no longer serve you... Let go of the pretense of the false persona, it is not you... Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I have always used my name on the legal documents for applications, references, etc.
If it changes, then you use your then current legal name.  The deadname would likely linger though.  Others here can go further with their experiences to help you.

Changing your name on legal documents can be handled via many transgender support group associated lawyers for maybe a $500 fee or you can do it yourself.
