I haven't been yet. I'm looking at board shorts and a rash guard. I missed the beach last year.

Well I'm not out so can't help you there but Where I am, a walk on the beech means wearing a warm windproof jacket and a hat! I can't handle the sun really. Blonde hair and fair skin and all. To be honest living onthe East coast often means we get an icy cold thick sea fret that rolls in. Everywhere else could be 25-30C but the 2-3 miles along the coast will be like pea soup and cold.

I can see it would be so freeing to be in a bikini for all to see!

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

If we go to the Gulf of America the water is warm almost like a bathtub. A slicker would be a nightmare to wear.

I wouldn't go in the North Sea even in the Summer! at least not this far North anyway! You can get hypothermia in as little as an hours time. keeping in the shallows is tollerable but if you get pulled out on a rip current you haven't got long! Our beaches are vast and deserted. No lifeguards watching the sea either so you are relying on the RNLI to get to you in time.

Swimming in the sea? count me as not a fan!

I went to a beach side bar with my wife and few years ago. There was a woman sitting in the water and she starts freaking out. I go over and ask her what was up. She told me something had gone across her feet. I asked her to describe it. What she described was a horseshoe crab. Horseshoe crabs are very harmless. There maybe some harmful items in the ocean, most are very harmless

Some geothermal ponds can be nice to swim in.

I missed the beach so much during my transition. I live walking distance from a nice sandy beach, and on hot nights, many of my neighbours would sit in the shallows and chat as we watched the sun set. While standing in knee deep water my wife had an eagle ray swim up and caress her legs for a couple of seconds. Magic memories!

But then I transitioned. Though presenting as a female, I could still sit on the beach just in my male speedos, and not be detected as trans. But it gave me dysphoria. Then came some breast growth, and I just felt too awkward to go to the beach. I also stopped lap swimming at my local pool. I missed both.

A trans friend nagged me to get breast augmentation, and though it wasn's a dysphoria trigger for me, there were practical advantages, swimming being one of them. I finally had the confidence to go back to lap swimming, though not to wear a bikini, but rather a rash top and bikini bottom (post bottom surgery). I successfully navigated the women's showers and change rooms, so going to my local beach was also possible. I suspect people still see me as a trans woman, but nobody has reacted negatively, and I do love going to my beach!

Hugs,

Allie

The beach is only an hour away. And just across the street is Lenny and Joe's Fish Tale, one of the most popular seafood shacks in Connecticut.  I ought to go early in the morning when it isn't too busy during one of our summer heat waves.  I used to go there all the time to watch birds.  They would fly across the Long Island sound and it was one of the few nature areas where they could rest.
