Hello, I'm Alice. My introduction can be quite chaotic, but I'm very nervous now. Today my fortieth birthday and understanding that I'm woman struck me like truck(yes and tears don't stop). I was reading about gender dysphoria and here me now. I'm new here and sometimes pretty silly, so your can expect many dumb questions from me, and I want apologize for these beforehand. I can sound needy but I'm seeking community where could be open about changes and problems in my life. Thank you.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Welcome Alice,

This is the most understanding community I have found to talk about gender issues!

Perhaps the best starting point is the distinction between gender and sexuality.
The fancy term is that they are independent variables.  One doesn't correlate well with the other.

The next is that we are a very diverse community.

I haven't needed surgery or HRT as I live in very accepting part of the country.
Rhode Island have very accommodating bathroom laws.  Yesterday I used a single user family bathroom.
I have passing privilege, as I lack some obvious male features and have a 5ft2in hourglass figure.

Plan to take a long time to figure stuff out.
