What do you buy a transwoman for her 60th birthday?

This woman I know who is still in the cupboard has a birthday coming up.

I want to surprise her even though she hates surprises.

I could drag her out for a 2nd set of earpiercings but it might be too much for her.

I know she'd love having her nails done but again... out

A pedicure would be fun for her and easily concealed.

Tattoos are a no go, but temporaries could be ok.

Maybe a necklace. She always wears one.

Or a pretty silver ring with a small stone.

For my 60th I treated myself to a pair of Pirelli Night Dragon tyres for my Harley Davidson Sportster and 2 days away in East Anglia before the weather broke. It was brilliant though a bit chilly in late October

I had my ears pierced for my 60th and got a pair of crystal studs.

I am happy that you started the conversation with your wife. Keep in mind that this is a shock to her hearing from you for the first time. She will need time to adjust. You have known this for much longer. Keep being yourself, be honest and open, and listen carefully to her concerns.

I repierced my ears last year when all my thoughts came back. I have thought about getting a 2nd set of piercings but I need to park that idea.

I just typed out a piece about what happened last night but lost it because I wasn't logged in.

I am giving myself a belated birthday treat.

I'm writing this from the nail salon and I'm having a shellac pedicure.

The lady doing it asked if I want my fingers done too.

I'm a bit worried what my wife would say about that.

For my 60'th, I started HRT. It was the start of my journey and my real birthday. But jewelry is my favorite gift to receive.

The pedicure proceded a visit to my psychologist.

We had a long and thorough discussion which ended with me walking out with an informed consent form to fill out.

When I'm ready my therapist will send a letter to a doctor who has experience in hrt.

It's a case of talking to my wife and then finding out if my health issues make it too risky for me.

My wife looked at our credit card statement and asked if I had my nails done.

I said yes and she grabbed my hands to look.

I said no, just my toes.

Her reply, nice colout.

I should have done my fingers too but I know I'd only be satisfied with extensions.

Anyway, something positive there. 😀

It is 6 weeks away so that's a good cooling off period.

As for the birthday... I also hate surprises. Just ask, haha. Maybe if you have an idea, work it into a stealth ask. I am sorry I am not more help but for any gift... I would rather someone ask me what I want than try to surprise me, because that never ends well.

Today is the first day I went out in what I consider is really dressed feminine.

Stripped green and white blouse, white jeggings, cream open toed low heel sandles to show off my red toes, foundation and nude lipstick.

I went and had a brow wax and tint and eyelash tint.

I talked to my hairdresser beautician about where I'm going and she was sympathetic and made some good suggestions.

She also gave me an idea of how she would do my hair if I let her.

She complimented my red pedicured toenails,which matched her fingers, and the clothes I was wearing, saying it was nicely age approapriate.

So happy with that
