What do you buy a transwoman for her 60th birthday?

Anna, I didn't take any offence and  didn't think it was clumsy.

I actually agree with you.  My wife doesn't hate me for being trans or for what I wear, she is just concerned about what society thinks and how they might react.

I might have to start a blog in the near future.

I've been trying to commit to 2 hours exercise a day and cutting back on junk. It's hard with the body pain I have, but that's not going away, so suck it up princess.

It was raining this morning so I decided to drive back to the piercing place.

The result is I'm now double pierced in both ears. Now I can wear a hoop and a shiny stud. I don't have to choose.

The young lady who did them couldn't have been better. They were done with a needle which is much better than stabbing a stud through.

She also made no comment on how I was dressed, no comment on my stick on nails, but I'm sure she knew what I was doing as I have started wearing pink and blue elastic bands alongside my silver bracelet along with a temporary butterfly tattoo on the inside of my wrist.

My wife will be here in 2 days, I will remove my nails, tattoo and probably the elastic bands. She keeps asking me if wearing elastic bands means something. Well, no bt yes.

On the way back I stopped at an opshop and noticed one of the people from there struggling to get a cupboard on to a dolly to take it took a customers car.
I showed her how to do it without having to lift the cupboard.

She came up to me in the shop to thank me while is was in the middle of the women's clothing section. If I lived around here I think I could have found myself a new friend 💙

Anyway, I found a pair of faux suede leather jeggings which I could just about fit. More reason to continue healthy choices.

I went to pay for them and women I helped before was teaching another lady how to process sales and she just said women's pants.

(I so wish I lived near hear)

After that, I took a leaf out of my internet friend Krista's musings and went to a cosmetics shop to buy a red lipstick, which is loreal 300 Le Rouge Paris, and wow is that red. I don't think I'll be wearing outside like Krista just yet, and I'm going to have to practice straight lines (I did put it on in the for the drive home)

I also bought some maybelline foundation, matte poreless number 115 which seemed to be the closest match.
Happily another shop assistant came up and aske another woman and I if we needed help.

Upon reflection, I should have said yes and let her put the testers on me. Sigh, live and learn.

What I have to remember, in settings like this, women can tell. A man in a cosmetics store, a man in the women's clothing section, a man with long hair, female jewelry all over wearing androgynous clothes.... who am I kidding

You generated a thought about my wife. She's a longtime LGBTQ supporter but struggled at first because it was her spouse.

It's possible she now sees that to truly love me means to accept and value me as I am. And F society.

This made me think about my wife and her views.
She is a great believer in personal freedom of expression and she has been involved in lgbtq related things in her profession and is aquainted with people that are L and people that are T. I have personal friends that are L and that are G.
She says that she will stand behind me if I want to dress more femme and has more or less invited me to try the clothes that I think I'll want or that I want to test - meaning at least skirts. So far, this is  unchartered territory because I am only subtly femme in my external presentation.

So far, her only(?) fear is her own attraction to me if I become woman-ish.

I don't hide my femme things  but I try to be a bit dignified about them. That is how I function with a lot of things, not only my femininity and I also owe her to be a bit low-key. No unnecessary fuzz.

@Petunia, I think this is turning into your personal blog, isn't it? Perhaps ask mod to rename and move?

I haven't posted much lately. My wife and I were set to have the talk but she backed out of it.

I kind of wanted to show her some of my posts here but I want to do it in a slow progressive way.  I find it a lot easier to express myself in written form rather than verbalising things as I tend to get overly emotional on important things.

I have been almost totally dressing in female cothes, well it's really just women's jeans, tees but also yoga pants all the time.

We got "hi ladies" by a guy and my wife said , see I told you that you need a haircut.

My wife even though I was a woman while we were out shopping and got separated.

I bought some foundation which I wore out twice with my wife before she found the bottle. I explained I had worn it to hide facial blemishes, and she seemed ok with that.

I have been wearing neutral lipstick daily as well.

As I wrote elsewhere my wife outed me to a very close friend which is quite a big turning point for us. This is the first person she told.

I outed myself to a friend 6 months ago, my beautician who I didn't know before, my therapist and the young woman who repierced my ears. Tjey were all very supportive.

Today I come out to a doctor I haven't met before. She is a gender affirming health provider.

I spent yesterday trolling through my health reports from the last few years in the hopes that it might save so time and/or unecessary tests

I quoted selectively but those quotes make me happy for you, they tell me that you two seem to be moving in the right direction.

I went for a blood test this morning and on the form it boldly stated Gender Affirming Care- Initial Consultation.

This made me feel quite nervous handing the form over.
I need not have worried as nobody blinked or questioned it.

The lady taking the blood was very quiet while drawing my blood but if she wasn't comfortable, she didn't show it.  I thanked her for being gentle, gave a urine sample and left.

This afternoon my gender gp sent a standard text asking me to make another routine appointment.

There was one for next Tuesday. I had already booked an appointment for the Monday after that (31st) but it looks like I get to go early.

It also means I am now out to my regular (male) gp as the results were tagged to go to him too.

So I'm out to 5 women, one man, my wife and soon to be all the receptionists at my gp's who I am quite friendly with.

When things change they go fast!

Yesterday morning I was out walking the dog and I noticed a sign somebody had put up on a powerpole. It was asking for help to find the person who had hit a car, damaged all down the right side, smashe the door mirror and didn't stop.

Today my wife and I walked our dog in a suburb a few away from our place and I noticed a car with extensive damage down the left hand side and there was collision marks that seemed like it matched the first car plus had marks on it's mirror indicating it had hit something but not broken.

I took some photos of the 2nd car and went to the people who own the car damaged and left.

They were totally surprised, thankful and couldn't believe I had gone out of my way.

They are going to contact the police. I hope they find the culprit even if it isn't this one.

I think I've seen the owners of the damaged car out walking our neighbourhood hills before but I do feel good for trying to help them.

Maid Marion

I would have loved to go bikini shopping.  A rite of passage for women in our society.
