Finally Anna

Following the slowly and softly pattern, I haven't really worn any women's tops at home until now. But at my recent session with my therapist he suggested that it is not necessarily a bad thing if we now and then get into a slight clash about things. I really dislike clashes, even if small, but I talked myself into believing him.

So, for a baby step I wore a navy women's round neck t-shirt, androgynous style, with my goto black women's sweatpants, at home two days ago. An intentional low contrast colour combo (I know that black+navy is so-so). No reaction at all from my wife.
Same outfit yesterday and then wifey asked if the t-shirt is new, and if it is a gym t-shirt (it's a soft and very lightly ribbed standard t-shirt).
Me: No, it's a standard t-shirt and I wore it yesterday as well.
Wife: Oh, I didn't see it yesterday.
No further questions asked. No further mentions.

My interpretation: Not her preference since no comment, but not too far off either since no comment and not noticed the day before.

Baby steps.
I guess you get a bit bored with the relatively minuscule things I do and these little rants about those baby steps, but writing in here is good for me so you better brace yourself. 😉
💕
Don't stop thinking about tomorrow.

It'll be better than before.

Quote from: Finally Anna on October 15, 2026, 05:40:31 AMAs I wrote, I think I have found a piece of this. I have recently discovered, or felt, that I don't obsess nearly as much now as I did just a couple of months ago.
I also discussed this with my therapist yesterday. His thinking is that once I came out to myself there was a huge need for releasing a backlog of pressure built up over so long time, so becoming and feeling more femme was at the top of my mind constantly. Now, some months later, the acute pressure is off and things have cooled down from that initial frenzy so what I now think and feel is probably more "truly me".

As a reference: I can do all male without feeling obviously icky, in the social circles that yet have no need at all to know anyhing about "it". I don't do it unless I have to, but I can do it. Let's call it a costume that can be worn.

There's no immediate craving for skirts, dresses, lace, heels, red lipstick etc. I feel very much at home in women's jeans and shorts that aren't super short, soft femme t-shirts, light/soft femme-ish shirts and a super light makeup with just a touch of brow contouring, very light lip gloss plus colourless and half-invisible mascara. Plus the longer nails with glossy clear polish and a lot of other things I do or wear.
So right now I am rather comfy in that slightly femme-leaning androgynous clothing and presentation. And I don't feel an internal pressure to hurry along towards a more feminine style.

So now you are back in my head quoting me.😃

But at the same time I'm obsessing about our marriage and also possible health issues.
And then one day you stop to find,
10 years have got behind you,
no one told you when to run,
you missed the starting gun

Sorry. Can't avoid it. 😉

I don't think I'm obsessing over our marriage, but I definitely keep it in mind and that's the reason I have waited a while to use that t-shirt when she is around. I am going deliberately slowly forward because of consideration.
about health: I have some health issues, but as far as I know none that qualifies as the issues people normally think about. Mine are chronical things that I just have to live with, although they can be a bit disturbing. But absolutely nothing to do about them, but keep living and loving and avoiding situations that make them worse.

Writing down your journey is never a bad thing. It's good for you and for others who may be in the same or similar situation. Years from now, you can go back, read what you wrote, and realize how far you have come. You can see what you worried about that was worth the worry and what was no big deal. Hindsight is always 20/20. No apologies needed.

Lori! But of course! I should have put a 😉 in my previous post.
Hmmm, seems I actually did.

And I do NOT mean that in any negative way. Not at all. I do appreciate your concern and experience.

Anna, I doubt you could be negative on here if you tried. Nobody took it that way.
