No one has our backs. *sighs* I don't know if I should even bother voting at this point. Why??? They all hate us. Why should I vote for something that is so vile, so corrupt, that you can't even say "the lesser of two evils" anymore? My state is no better. If I bother to vote, I run the risk of getting jumped by the Gestapo (or worse). Yeah, a few people that I know will give me crap for not voting. But I seriously think that we are sinking here.

Remember the saying:

"Decisions are made by those who show up."

They want you to be demoralized. They want you to give up. They want you to stay home rather than cast a vote against them.

They can do whatever they want if they have the votes. The current administration is a prime example. Do your homework and find a candidate of any party that is most favorable to you. Then vote. You are not just voting against evil; you are also voting in favor of someone who might be able to help make a difference.

I agree that it seems like a lost cause. A sharp, inspiring candidate gets sucked into the Good Ole Boys Club shortly after the election. Then spend the rest of their careers trying to get re-elected. We have seen it time and again.

But we have to keep trying until we find someone with a spine who is willing to hold government accountable. They are out there.

Yeah, that's all well and good. But what does my getting snatched up by the Gestapo do? Nothing. If I weren't killed outright, the trauma would be a pretty large nail in my coffin. I'm sorry, but the idea of putting my life on the line for a country that couldn't prevent the 4th Reich at the ballot box is totally insane. We shouldn't be in this mess. Plus, I am beyond tired of people I know elsewhere who throw a hissy fit when I say that I am leaning towards staying home. The fact is that my county always votes 70+% for the right. Add the multigenerational brain rot caused by bigotry, anti-intellectualism, and just plain apathy, and it's a recipe for the disaster that we are currently living in. MAYBE that will drop to 50%. Probably not. Look....if these Nazi scum weren't running around attacking and murdering people, I would just go vote on election day. This country is not normal.

Yes and No.

I can't remember the date. But, I remember watching some of a speech and after babbling about sharks and batteries or whatever the hell, he hits a pause and starts to drawl "Traaaansgendeeeer" AUDIENCE: BOOOOO!!! Donald Duck: "Traaaannnnsssgdeeer" LEMMINGS: BOOOO!!

Then, he pointed to the crowd and says: "Ya see? Ya see? When I talk about (whatever the hell he was yapping about) no one says anything. But, when I talk about transgender, everyone goes crazy."

That was when I knew it was only a matter of time.
