Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche assured faith leaders last week that the Justice Department is planning to continue to suppress abortion access in the aftermath of the 2022 Supreme Court ruling striking down Roe v. Wade.

"We don't have complete victory yet, but we will have victory, and victory will be soon, and it will be permanent," Blanche said, according to a recording of the call posted online Thursday by Intercessors for America, a Christian ministry, and reported by Politico on Monday.

The recording of the call, which was available on Monday evening, has since been removed from YouTube.

Blanche, who is on track to be confirmed as attorney general, also said that the Trump administration was working on "putting practices and policies in place" to curb the shipment of abortion pills.

"If states have said, 'We are going to protect the unborn and we're going to protect every life from the moment of conception,' we're putting practices and policies in place so that other states and other organizations can't attack that," he said. "They can't do things like they're doing with mailing in mail-order drugs."

Except that he has no authority to make such changes or make anything permanent.

Even if Congress were to pass an amendment making it federal law, the next Congress can repeal it.

People in government should be able to pass a simple civics exam before taking office. We have too many idiots who do not understand how government works.
