There is something that prompted him to say this, but it more bad news.
"The Trump administration has pressured two major hospital systems into agreements involving care for people who want to detransition. Texas Children's Hospital agreed to establish a multidisciplinary "detransition" or "restorative care" clinic, and Cleveland Clinic agreed to provide $2 million worth of services to people who had received gender-affirming treatment before age 19 and later sought to detransition. Those services can include hormones, fertility care, counseling and, when medically appropriate, surgical revision or reconstruction."
