Hi FeeltrappedCongratulations! It really is lovely to read such a happy update and especially to hear how wonderfully supportive your wife and family have been. I had to smile when you said your wife now calls you her "wifey". That must be such a lovely feeling and she certainly sounds like a keeper.
Five months on HRT too! Well, I am just a little bit ahead of you there, about 37 years in my case! I never actually came out to my family myself. They found out through good old "Chinese whispers" but thankfully they completely love and accept me. So I do know that wonderful feeling of being accepted and loved by the people closest to you.
As for the hair saga, I can definitely sympathise. My hair has been down to my waist since I was around 18, like mother like daughter I suppose. I still remember my mum once asking me to go to a barber and get a short back and sides. When I got there I specifically told the barber not to take too much off. Guess what? He cut it really short!
Long story short, I have never been back to a barber ever since! So I completely understand your fear of finally getting some length into your hair only to have somebody decide they know better and take far too much off.
Congratulations again. You sound so happy in your post and that happiness really comes through. I hope things just keep getting better for you and I am sure that awkward hair stage will eventually be a distant memory.
I do have one question for you though. With everything that has happened and with all the love and support around you now, do you still feel trapped, Feeltrapped? 😄
Best Wishes AlwaysSarah BGlobal Moderator@Feeltrapped
