So much of the anti-trans crusade leans on misinformation and presenting data in a way that is intentionally misleading. That's true for claims about everything from desistance and detransition rates to the level of support for trans people in the LGBTQ+ community. But a new "study" released by the Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) shows just how much misinformation is driving the opposition to trans inclusion in sports, and how easy it is to fall prey to what researchers call dominance theory.

"It is shockingly unfair for biological women to have to compete against trans-identifying men," says the CEO and President of CWALAC, Penny Nance, in a statement. "Our research finding that trans-identifying males have stolen over 2,293 gold medals from women in the United States is an outrage. Biological men have distinct advantages over biological women. This reality not only puts women in harm's way, but it eliminates opportunities for biological women to earn a living and win competitions. Congress must act to protect biological women."

Nance is parroting the claim that trans women have an unfair advantage in sports, ignoring the scientific research that has repeatedly suggested that no such advantage exists.

But trans women won 2,293 gold medals! That's a big scary number! Clearly trans women are dominating sports! So I decided to look at their data and this trans dominance in athletic pursuits...

Can we stop saying misinformation or misleading? Can we just say they are addicted to lying? I see political ads talking about forcing "transgender surgeries on kids". it has never been legal it never will be legal to allow gender affirming surgery on a child. This is just fear mongering and people needed to call out these people for flat out lying to terrify the uneducated.
