Ouch!!🤣

I still maintain that honey roasted parsnips are the holy grail of delicious vegetables followed closely by sweet potatoes.

Potatoes however, they taste of soil and mold to me! I will conceed that either properly roasted or proper, squishy inside, crispy outside chips are acceptable.

Ok yeah I am a bit weird. I won't eat cheese unless it's melted either!

Do you care for chips, as in fish and chips?

When done right yes. This however is only done by a select few chippys in my view. Plus it is important to go outside of peak hours otherwise there is a tendancy for them to rush them, which means undercooking them. If that happens then I throw the chips to the seagulls.

I am very picky about chips!

French fries are ok as they really don't seem much like potato at all, however. The best french fry has nothing on a properly cooked chippy chip especially cooked in beef dripping! Dev will be the expert here.

Oh no you don't! I find that when people say that about French fries they're talking about McDonald's shoestring fries, which are awful.

A good French fry and a British chip are essentially the same thing. If there's any difference, it's that British people seem to prefer them a bit underdone.

Sweet potato fries, anyone?

Remoulade? Is that often found at chippies?

Although similar to tartar sauce, often served cold, it is typically more yellowish, sometimes flavored with curry, and often contains chopped pickles or piccalilli. It can also contain horseradish, paprika, anchovies, capers, and other condiments. It is frequently used as a condiment or dipping sauce, often for fish but sometimes meats.

Hi Everyone

Okay last round, you said:

Quote from: Stottie Girl on Today at 08:00:29 AMI still maintain that honey roasted parsnips are the holy grail of delicious vegetables followed closely by sweet potatoes.

Okay confession time, a little while back I was eating a roast dinner and funny enough there was a small baked parsnip or turnip (it was tiny). Maybe I thought it was a baked onion, but never mind I eat it and surprisingly it was not bad. A little while later I had a chance to eat another one, but alas it was a bad as it was when I had school dinners in England (yes I'm English). So unless a coated parsnip or turnip or something then I will not eat them.

Its like I do not plain boiled carrots. I used to eat them like they were about to go out of fashsion, but one day a school dinner again in England I was violently sick. Ever since then I can not eat boiled carrots. Chinese cooked carrots, yes raw carrot, yes. So there you go.

Quote from: Stottie Girl on Today at 08:00:29 AMPotatoes however, they taste of soil and mold to me! I will conceed that either properly roasted or proper, squishy inside, crispy outside chips are acceptable.

This is where we are different I will eat a potatoe with its skin, yes it is washed before cooking it. I will take back that you are strange, in other words I acknowledge you have different tastes buds, just like my carrot analogy, because at least you will eat some version of potatoes.

Quote from: Stottie Girl on Today at 08:00:29 AMOk yeah I am a bit weird. I won't eat cheese unless it's melted either!

Okay I understand where you are coming from on the cheese issue. I love cheese. There was a time when I did not like blue vein cheese until one day I had it after work with other colleagues and it was divine. In the case of melted cheese, recently I have been buying tasty cheese slices, putting them in the microwave until melted and then eating the melted cheese.

Okay that makes me weird and you can call me weird if you like.

Happy eating.

Best Wishes Always
