Answers are easy. It's asking the right questions which is hard.

Be positive in the fact that there is always one person in a worse situation then you.

I'm an icy-hearted heathen, but there are two christian songs that I can't forget.

Hearing it as an adult, the coloring song is a bit simplistic, but it's still nice. The jehovah jireh song was more useful for being uplifting. This is the least-cheesy version I could find.

Honestly I found more power in the stuff in the hymnals than anything I know how to look up and link.

I guess I am too but like you, there are a few gospel songs that speak to me.  I have no problem filtering the myth from the message.  If I hear something that speaks to me then that's a good thing.

It's a 90's Christian rap song.  I'll admit, it's not as uplifting as other Christian songs, but it still can be encouraging in it's own way.  It starts off as a warning/instruction, then it gets encouraging.  I like it.

Mine is Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone.  No matter what happens, no matter how bad I mess up, He is forever mine and I am forever His.  :)

After all the stuff I've been through this year so far and what I expect to go through in the next year transition-wise, this song can really hit home for me.
