Not sure if anyone else has had this problem....it may be a bit TMI.

Basically I am down to wearing liners most of the day now. No more pads, yay! right?

Well kinda.

It seems that whenever I have a stool now (they seem to be a bit hard lately), my vagina bleeds and I'm stuck wearing a pad again for the rest of the day or so.

I asked my surgeon about this and she's sure it's more granulation tissue inside my vagina and that the hard stool is agitating it on the way out (via anal/vaginal wall). I'm going to see my doctor again today to have him do more silver nitrate....and he may have to use a speculum ...first time for that, oh boy =/

Just curious if anyone else has had similar experiences at all?

Not had this issue myself, but I can tell you speculums are nothing to worry about especially if you've been doing your dilations like you should.

Re: Joyce

Pre-HRT, I was regular as clockwork.  After starting my transition, I became quite irregular and had to use a lot of effort to accomplish the mission.  Post-op, my Dr. said to start using a stool softener and this has eased the whole situation and caused me to become regular again.

Perhaps the problem is not in the area where you see results, but rather in the cause of the bleeding.  I no longer have to put a lot of pressure on my body and I think this makes everything easier.

You might try a stool softener and give your body a better chance to heal.

I dealt with this a bit. It was because some of the stitching had loosened and i had 1 spot that took a little longer to heal. It did heal tho. Another issue that can pop up from surgery is hemheroids. (sic?)

Hemorrhoids are quite common post-surgery.

yeah I've been experiencing this, mostly in month two and it's been like 80% of the time I go for number twos.

I was really regular during month one, like clock work and with no effort at all, no need to even push... then when I got home I started taking nurofen plus in the mornings. I read that it can cause constipation so I've been blaming that for the irregularity and the need to push well that and I'm not drinking as much as I was during month one because every day that I drink a lot I'll be almost an hour into dilation and really need to pee, I refuse to stop and start so if it gets too much I just stop early. And I don't drink anything for two hours before only straight after I finish a session.

I noticed that there is more blood if I poop in the mornings than the afternoons and at first I thought it was from the stitch site around the opening but now I'm sure it comes from inside. I thought it must just be a stitch inside or just one of those little lattice holes, those little dots of scab that appear may of popped off from the pressure.

I tried taking one of those pills that soften everything but it just got in the way of dilating, I'd feel the need to poop too often but nothing would move blah! I've been thinking of trying them again as things are getting a bit ouchies when I do go... even though there is less blood now. I figured it would return to normal after I stop needing to take any painkillers.

P.s So much better dilating on an empty bowel xP

Saw my doc yesterday and had another silver nitrate treatment.

He recommended something like metamucil to soften the stools a bit so I'll prob do that if I can remember to take the stupid stuff

I need to get it in pill form because I'm pretty religious about my pills/vitamins

You could try "Fiber Choice".  It is a pill, well tablet, and you can add it to you other pills.
