so here's my dilemma. i love hockey. and one day i want to play for the ohl, aka ontario hockey league for those of you who are not familiar. it's a pretty hard league to get into and people get drafted from it into the nhl.
i'm also 5'6, 115 lbs and oh yeah i also have a vagina (the worst). but im a guy! and i want to play hockey WITH guys.
what do you guys think i would have to do to be able to play for even a local rep team? are my dreams not possible?

Frankly, I'm not up to date with the laws,
But I know that back when Rene...something or other got a sex change, she wasn't allowed into the women's tennis league.
They said that the team was for real women and not women who used to be men.
Things may have changed though, it's hard to say...for me anyways... ^^;

If you really want in,
You might just have to hide the fact that you were born as a woman,
Otherwise, you might be screwed.

I don't see how they could justify not accepting you for being born female if you had your gender marker legally changed.

Dude, are you playing AAA hockey? Are you playing bantams or minor midget? Are you planning to play Junior B first?

We don't know how old you are or what your experience is. But if you were a cis-male teenage boy who posted on a hockey forum this exact same message, people would laugh at you for thinking that you can go play with the OHL just because you love hockey a lot and try very hard, especially if you are 50 lbs lighter than even the *undersized* players in the OHL are.

This is a support forum, but it's a support forum for being trans. I'm not going to blow smoke up your behind about a sports fantasy as though "anything is possible." It isn't. Thousands and thousands of boys want to play in the OHL and cannot. Why would you be any different?

Can you play on a local team with boys? Likely, though we can't say anything more about how you'd do that, without knowing where you live, your experience, your age, etc.

Should you give up your dreams of the OHL? I would certainly put that on hold.
