Hello girls. My skin is slightly pocked from acne and chicken pocks.   Its not too bad, but it doesnt seem very smooth. Even the texture of it seems a little rough. It shows if I apply foundation as well, not to bad, but I notice it.

I am considering laser to smooth it out. I have been on HRT for 3 weeks, and while it has softened to the touch, I am not happy with the texture due to my above complaints. I was wondering if anyone had any experience in this and if the could give me my options. I dont mind laser as I think the most it would cost (worst case) is 1500. Do I want to spend a dime, no, but I do so badly want smooth skin. UIt doesnt have to be 12 year old smooth, just feminine smooth.

Thanks :-)

Wait a bit more for HRT to work. A lot can still happen after three months, your skin included.

The local pharmacist tells me that Vitamin E applied to scars helps.  She suggested that instead of using a cream, getting some supermarket Vitamin E capsules, opening them and making a paste with a little water.  Lots cheaper.

If only we could simply call Safelite to use a magic resin to fix our faces...  Alas, I have no answer to this question, but as someone not on HRT, I would also like to know if there are other means.  I somehow overcame the battle with acne on my face for the most part already, I simply blame aging though [used to be all over my face, then everywhere but forehead, then all over the bottom of my chin and neck where I shave, but getting better.... It all just went to my back and bottom now...].

Karen,
You do not think there would be a lotion or paste already prepared with Vitamin E out there?

they exist, but at a greater cost than the DIY methods using Vit E capsules...

I would look at heavy duty microderm abrasion first. Sign up for Groupon in your nearest city and you will prob get a good deal on it soon.

I've had that done and it's a little weak and I wasn't impressed at all, and it won't get rid of acne pot marks.  Full on dermabrasion might be better!

I was thinking laser therapy.  However I would follow it with derma brasion, just curious if anyone has tried it.

There several options, but you need to go around and try them out. Go to professional skin therapists, they are usually and should be dermatologists (medically qualified' not a nursing degree level), they will use things such as cobalt lasers and high energy red lasers that beauticians  do not have access too.

The level you are looking at is this, I realise the place is useless to you geographically but to give you the background ideas: www.laserskinandvein.com.au

Mods/Admin  this is not spam or advertising it is pointing out the level of service required.

Have you ever tried Dermablend Cover Creme? http://www.dermablend.com/

This + the matching setting powder will pretty much cover most anything. Check it out.  :)
