JulyaOrina, I realize that a few of the ideas listed below aren't
what you had in mind, but perhaps some of the others may be
helpful.
1. Taking out a loan from your bank or credit union
2. Using your credit cards
3. Home equity loans
4. Financing your surgeries through finacing companies such
as
http://www.carecredit.com/ or directly through the surgeon.
I was recently perusing the website of Dr. Toby R. Meltzer, who is a fine
and very competent surgeon in Scottsdale, Arizona. He made mention
that he is able to offer financing through
SurgeryLoans.com http://www.surgeryloans.com/patients/ On their website they have a payment calculator. One sample payment they
list is $218 / month on a $7500 loan, of course if the patient makes a down
payment their monthly payment would go down.
5. Check to see if your employer or school offers coverage through their
health insurance. Cigna, and Blue Cross - Blue Shield have been known to
cover GRS and trans related expenses.
6. Try to get the most "bang for your buck". For GRS and other trans related
surgeries consider countries like Thailand where your dollar will go further,
and where they have proven expertise.
7. Use left over student loan or grant money.
8. Utilize your savings in conjuction with all of the above
Also keep in mind that many gender reassignment costs such as HRT, FFS,
therapy, GRS, etc. are tax deductible.
