Fabulous Group: Join TRANStastic for friends and advice

Finding resources for some of the most basic questions from transgender and gender-queer people in Utah can be tough. Employers often don't know how to treat people who are transgender, and doctors often have to guess, said Dallas Ian Carrizales, a member of the TRANStastic social group.

"I've been transitioning for about three years, and I couldn't have done it without TRANStastic," Carrizales said.

TRANStastic is a social group that meets every second and fourth Friday at Whisper's Café in Salt Lake City at 6:30 p.m. The group does not participate actively in political causes, advocacy or any other activities. It is a place to gather with other transgender and gender-queer people to discuss issues unique to them, Carrizales said.

That post is a few years old, and Shana doesn't seem to be associated with that group.  I'd call up the Whispers Cafe and see if the group is still meeting there.
