Hi, I am yukana and I have been "lurking" in Susan's looking for answers to my own questions.
Although I have found some of the answers, I have yet to find anything about this issue under the voice/ffs/surgery forum so I have decided to ask and post about this.
If I have to stop taking anti-androgen due to surgery or financial circumstances,
Will the Adam's Apple grow back after the shave operation?
Will the vocal cords lengthen/thicken after FemLar if I decided to undertake it?
I know this would not be an issue if it is concurrently done with SRS, after orchidectomy, or have no interruption of anti-androgen therapy.
I know that this as a single standalone procedure is more expensive than coupling with other procedures.
I know this is a drastic measure and the risks of complications as well as what it can do and cannot do.
I do plan on skipping orchidectomy and contribute that fund toward SRS.
It is not my intention of stopping anti-androgen if I can afford taking it but I am trying to prepare for the worse financially down the road with this economy and the lack of workplace protection where I live and work.
I do not want to burden my family with these "maintenance" costs as this is the path I have chosen to be myself.
For me, right now, raising the ability to pass is more important during RLE than the several-years-down-the-road SRS which I am also saving for.
My Adam's apple is very prominent that even my therapist who is very lenient with appearances have asked if I can do something about it.
Having it visible makes people 100% identify me as male in the front and covering it with a scarf just makes people more curious about what is hidden underneath.
Although I have read informational sites about the procedures, they do not mention this issue at all which is a concern for me as I do not want to undergo this twice financially.
I know it is probably better to ask a medical professional about this but I feel like they might make an impression of me making a surgical appointment right there during the consultation when I am still saving for it.
I am asking this because if there are cases of breast regrowth after breast reduction on genetic female, would it hold true for this on genetic male as well?
If anyone knows more about this, or where I can find more information about this, please share.
Sorry for the long post and the demanding tone.
