As a young man (in the 70's) I lived in a boarding house with a group of people so different from each other it is hard to explain why we got along together so well,( being poor levels alot of hills). Two of my downstairs neighbors were brother and sister. They became friends of mine. She was young and pretty, he was younger and in the process of getting a sex change. they had no one to fall back on. There was a father, a truck driver, he disowned the boy and so the sister was left with the task of raising her younger sibling. She became a prostitute. We went out together on weekends and had some good times. Her brother developed a crush on me and I was asked for the first time in my life where i stood in the matter. I decided to decline his offers but asked that we remain friends. He was hurt but o.k.
Years later i began to write. I have one book published, (Little Mun) and have finished the second. The title is Cash and Athena. Athena is one of two main characters, she is transgendered. I looked across America to find my Athena. i found her in the audience of a drag show in New Orleans. She is brave,outspoken, and vulnerable. I am looking for someone who has completeted the process or is in the process to read my novel. I have had others read it and it has been more than I could hope for. Wishbone4444@aol. com.
