I love all normal parts of being a woman, shaving my legs, panties, bras, makeup, shaping eyebrows, etc..... However I really feel my best when my nails are long & near perfect. I've never had false nails & never plan to, they look so course.

Just wondering girl friends, a little fun topic from all the other serious topics.

Mine are long, perfect & bright red. I love a strong red color & always have. It goes well with my completion & dark hair.

I would love to have long nails, but I can't because of my new profession.  I don't wish to claw someone's beloved puppy or kitten.  So I keep them short and very nude colors if any color at all.

i have longer fingernails as well, but I always make sure they are not too long. Ive seen some girls (cisgendered and trans) who have fingernails that are so long, they begin to curl. Now, that to me, is kinda creepy lol.

I've had em short too. Short or long, I feel fine with them. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. :)

Mine start curling around about 1/4" so natural long nails are totally out of the question. :(  Not to mention my nails break so easily.  They break when I zip up my shorts, tie my shoes, clean the bathroom, if it's windy outside, whenever a bird craps in Paris, you name it.

Zoe, That is funny, oh well, no big deal girl friend.

Guess I'm lucky, mine grow nicely, I try & keep them maybe 1/2 inch long.

That's probably your Spiro that is the culprit.

I used a nail strengthener every other day or mine would turn to dust! Have u tried the nail strengthener? (im sure you have but i gotta ask lol).

half an inch from the tip of the finger or half an inch from the bottom nail bed? I'm guessing nailbed cus if it's a half an inch from the tip of the fingers, those are called Raven Claws :P

Annah, 1/2 inch from bottom nail bed, maybe 1/4 out from tip of fingers. They just grow naturally, although I use hard clear polish 24-7 if not painted. I've always had long nails since early in life, after a while they seem normal, you just handle things differently so as not to break a nail. I need so many other feminine attributes but guess least glad for nice nails.

Just use strengthen type polish it will help a lot.

I used to have strong nails and grew them longish for some time. Then they started to peal off in thin layers and break also.

It is still happening and it might be the Spiro (or E?). The beautician says it's the hormones I take, what ever that means.

I been offer nail-strengthener but it also applies like varnish and I suppose will chip and peal off also?

First I thought because I had varnished nails 24/7 for month and month. So I stopped varnishing but they still delaminate.

I think your beautician is right, before I started testosterone my nails used to peal a lot too, they stopped pealing once I started T and they got stronger.  You could take a vitamin called biotin, I just started using it for hair growth, and my nails are stronger and grow super fast

I find it harder to grip small things without long fingernails, like those things you pull to open canned cat foods. >.<

I cut them when they are longer than 1/2" (from tip of finger) because it is discomfort to write at keyboard
But newer cut them to be shorter than fingers, must left at least 1/8" white part of nail, I have them too short

I keep my about this length all the time and no one pays much attention to them in the family or stranger that I am aware of.  Don't pay any attention to my head, tried to get it out  of the way LOL. Just wished I had some polish on them right now.
Much Love Amy Michelle

I do not personally know or really understand any FTM boys/men but why would long finger nails be important to you??

What am I missing here??

Francis,

Long nails aren't important so much as we both had nails that would not grow well and peeled. Elijah had a solution and I was agreeing with that. My problem now is having to cut them so often.

OK, thanks, I understand. It's early morning for me & a little confused I guess.

Please have a great day.
