I don't mind hair on my arms or legs (it's really light blond for some reason and not very thick), but I don't like my armpit hair and I'm not a fan of the thought of having chest hair. I know a lot of cisguys shave their chests, but the only cisguys I know who shave their armpits are swimmers. I don't like having hair there, but it makes me feel dysphoric when I shave it because I don't feel like enough of a guy (even though I'm übermasculine).
What are your views on body hair and how can I ease my dysphoria from shaving?

i like the idea of having more body hair then i have now wich is very very little but i dont want a really hairy chest but i do want a happy trail. if i where you i would try just trimming my armpit hair or shaving it and taking up swimming.

insanitylives

Pit hair you can try trimming. If I was less lazy I'd probably do that.

Myself I have a lot of hair for being XX.. Thin-yet-notisable snail trail, fur on my thighs, that annoying girly mustache (-_-)
Not huge on thick body hair. I think what's here is basically enough for me. I know on T it'll get thicker and I'll get chest hair (ew.. furry moobs pre op...), but it'll probably get shaved/waxed/both

I have a friend who has 3 brothers and he told me that one of them, the most masculine guyish one imo, shaves his armpit hair. he has a full beard and hair everywhere else but he doesnt like armpit hair so he shaves it. everyone is different and prefers different things so its all up to you. theres this hot girl i used to work with that actually said she prefers men with no armpit hair.

as for me though, i like my armpit hair, my leg hair, and my very thick happy trail! I cant wait for facial hair. The only thing id ever fix is if my back started getting really hairy, i personally am not a fan.

I'm pretty hairy for being pre T and I welcome any hair T brings. I've accepted that i will probably have a really hairy back. I find shaving my body hair extremely irritating so i don't do it. Plus I Like it. I'm sure a lot of guys shave their arm pits.

Don't want to crash in, but have you seen any of those ultra masculine wrestling dudes with body hair?

It's your body and your image. Do what you want.

I'm still pre-t, but I have to shave off the girl-stache and the rest of my face. Hoping my sideburns will some back since I shaved them off when the hairstylist pointed them. I have only shaved my legs once in 2 years, and havent done my armpits for about 2 months now. Decent amount of hair, but I want more, lol. Thats one thing I really want from T. The ability to be a hairy beast if I choose to be :D. PS: I want a happy trail too...I strangely have a dark skin line where it would be, almost as if I was supposed to have hair there as well.

Isnt hair a hinderance in a sport that highly contact in that little clothing?

I don't really have underarm hair, so I'm lucky there. I shave everything else though. For me, it's an obsessive compulsive thing. My brother is biologically male, but he trims his pits. He's OCD too though XP. I dread the hair growth that will come with hormone treatment. If I'm lucky, I'll be as almost hairless as my brother. If not, I'll be as hairy as my biological father @_@. In which case, I'm investing in a straight razor xD.

Over the years the body hair gone from new and exciting to overwhelming. Used to be excited to shave now and then now I get a 5 o'clock shadow and look a mess if I skip a day, I used to have just a little happy trail thats now growing all the way up the front of me. Now I just fear ending up like my dad who waxes his back during the summer so he sweats less because he can grow a carpet.
Its also odd because none of my body hair matches color. The hair on my head is dark blond/light brown (depending on if its summer or not), my facial hair is red, my stomach and chest hair is black, below the belt is brown, legs are dark blond, arm pits are like a calico (Red, blond, and brown). Anyone else have this odd mix random different types of hair?

I think body hair is one of those topics that it's really personalized what you do with it - and really shouldn't let society as a whole or other people sway you from what you feel comfortable with.

That's cool! I all my hair is dark brown/blackish. I'm pretty sure body hair acts like the coils on a refrigerator and even wicks away sweat.

Got leg hair (pretty thick for pre-T) and a happy trail (had it my whole life), but I shave my pits. Girlfriend makes me. End of story.
Can't say I really care one way or the other, I let it grow out, but then my gf got really pissed at me and literally forced the razor into my hands and demanded that I shave it. Her words exactly, "Bio-male or not, you shave your pitts! I will not date a man with hairy underarms, that's just disgusting!"
So there you have it. I got told. 8/

i shave the underarms and will keep shaving ehen i start t. for me manlymess has nothing to do with it. i just smell like a sock even when i am female. i can put men to shame with bo. so its a hygeine thing to that you might want to take into consideration. damn genetic funky body odor. lol
things dont change, they merely rearange into that which they already are.

I hate pit hair on everyone. I will shave mine forever. I will likely shave my chest until I get surgery, assuming I get significant chest hair. I don't know my fate since my brother is the closest comparison, and he barely has any. My dad says that he didn't have very much when he was young, but he's average now I'd say. So who knows.

Yes. I do. My hair is a weird blond/ash/light brown color. My hair on my arms are blond and blend with my skin. My legs are a mix of a light brown and blending blond. My stomach/happy trail is a dark brown, below the belt is a light brown, armpit is a weird mix of brown and blond. I also had someone point out that my eyelashes are dark at the base, but somehow turn blond at the tips. My facial hair is coming in a mixture of a reddish-brown, dark brown, light brown, and blond. I have what looks like a bald spot under my skin but it's just a spot where the hair grows in the blond that blends with my skin tone.

It's really weird. But I'm not super hairy at all. I do no shave at all. I don't really need to yet. My facial is getting very scruffy, but I enjoy it.

I say the more hair the better, bring it on. I am pretty darn hairy and I love it. My legs, rear end and stomach are the most hairy. My girlfriends tell me that I don't have a happy trail...I have a happy forest lol. I have a few hairs around my nipples but that's it as far as my chest and no back or arm hair. According to most women they don't like out of control armpit hair so I keep it trimmed. Also they find a little chest hair sexy but back hair is a big turn off to women. I let everything grow wild except I keep certain areas neatly trimmed if you catch my drift.
