Ever Have Conversations That Felt Like They Turned Into a Dance?

I never thought about it but ya, the conversations I have in my head is very much like a dance. Can't say its like that with another person but I bet thats what happens when you meet your soul mate.

My conversations seem to be mostly trying to bridge the language chasm. Lots of repeating what was said trying to figure out the intended meaning, and usually, failing that.

some of my most dance-like conversations happened when there was no common vocabulary at all, but somehow this made us able to understand each other a lot better than we would have if we did know 300 of the same words (i've tried that too)

other than that, i have a friend with whom i can speak about anything without any concern for how the words come out, she does the same with me, and we very often have read the other's mind before the words are spoken. or we might say the same thing at the same time. it's fun, but we often end up talking about things that might scare people who don't understand how our minds work

My conversations tend to feel like a military conquest.  A dance?  Not really.

I blame this on my living too near the Bible Belt.  If I lived somewhere else, I may not have to strategize my words all the time.

I prefer to talk to people who dont listen, because then i can say anything and not worry about they listening to the stupid things I say.

Partial listeners are incredibly frustrating to talk to, they just listen to what they want to hear.

And people who actually do listen are really scary, they usually also remember emote by emote and word by word. So if you say something stupid, they will be glad to remember it for you for the rest of your life.

Because of this, I prefer not to speak to people I actually know. Stranges are usually better at this whole "talking" thing than people I already know.
