What happened, Julian? *hug*

A pregnant, homeless-looking woman came up to my friend while we were outside the grocery store last night. She asked us for cab fare or a ride to the hospital. He volunteered my car, that jerk. So my partner and I reluctantly agreed to drive her while our friend went into the grocery store. The hospital she wanted was too far away, so we agreed to drive her to a store where her brother (?) worked and could give her money, or something. I spent the entire couple miles terrified she would whip out a gun or something, and as soon as we dropped her off and sped away, I started bawling.

It doesn't sound that scary. But in Chicago at night, anything can happen.

She was also a homophobic jerk. If I had been driving instead of my partner, I might have pulled over and made her get out. We were even near a hospital when it happened.

This morning I'm just more pissed off at my friend for volunteering my car, and the fact that I gave her some cash to try and make her go away and didn't get it back.  >:(

Arthritic. My investigation is leading me to believe some of my discomfort is from arthritis. If I'm right, its a relief to have a name for it.

I had/have arthritis affecting just my left wrist.  When it started it was pretty bad, and I thought it might be carpal tunnel syndrome or something like it.  I tried wearing various kinds of braces/supports which sort-of helped sometimes and was annoying most of the time.  When I finally had a specialist check it out, he spent about 4 seconds looking at the x-ray and prescribed pain meds. (Which were very nice, but maybe a little too nice, and with limited refills.)

I tried a friend's dit da jow (Chinese herbal liniment) that I'd bought mostly because she needed the money, and whether coincidence or not, it eased up.  It's only occasionally bothered me since then, and not nearly so strongly.

What happens when you look in a mirror, do you see yourself.

I have never really seen myself, just what I look like. Except backwards.

Am I having a dejavu experience or did you mention harrassing phone calls at work before. Are you talking about fellow worker harrassing you or the public. Either way its the pits having work make you so anxious.

Its not anyone from work doing it, I think its a few kids that are doing it, but I haven't got solid evidence of exactly who yet. The most recent have been transphobic in nature and I don't think my employer is taking it very seriously. There are no protections for trans where I live.

And yeah, it can make for a crappy day and make it harder to deal with customers for a bit after the calls too.

I got my script back and am allowed to keep a couple with me.

Done...First a little 'Devil Doll radio' on Pandora, try it. You'll like it.

Edged,
