I think the pizza guy in that new Domino's commercial is an ftm

You do know the only reason that Domino's or any other mega-corporate chain does anything like this is to fool you into thinking that they are just a bunch of OK people, people you like, so you can give them your money.

I'll bet they put an obvious lesbian in their ad, not because of any support of gay rights, or human rights, but because a couple of marketing surveys told them that it would help them target a specific target demographic that they were not selling to.  They want to make more than the $236 million they made last year, and they don't care much how they do it.

And the founder?  All that money you paid him?  Most of it went to fund right-wing Catholic organizations like the Thomas More Law Center, a public interest law firm dedicated to promoting social conservative issues such as opposition to abortion, same sex marriage, and secularism.   He also started his own law school: faculty members have included conservative legal scholar and Supreme Court nominee Judge Robert Bork. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia assisted in developing the school's curriculum, and the school's first annual Ave Maria Lecture was presented by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in 1999. The school's stated goal is to educate competent "moral" attorneys who will influence all aspects of the legal profession and advance natural law theory.

So it's not like you're sleeping with the enemy, you're just funding them.

So enjoy that 'za knowing that part of the money you gave to the delivery guy just went to fund the fight against your rights.

I would have a response, but unfortunantly I agree. But I just dont care.

Wow, I hadn't known that Tom Monaghan, the founder of Domino's Pizza, was such an um...

He founded the Thomas More Law Center.

"The Thomas More Law Center has sued Michigan State University over their policy of providing health care benefits to same-sex domestic partners employed by the university."

"He has also committed to spending what remains of his $1 billion fortune on philanthropic endeavors."

I'm quite sure that his views on "philanthropy" are different than mine.

I'm not really worried though, the supermarket has a little pizza deal in it's cafe area that serves up $5 pepperoni or cheese pizza that is just as good if not better than any and you can get it fresh baked or take 'n bake

I can't get enough Round Table pizza. Their gourmet veggie pizza is the greatest thing ever.

I hate Dominos and Papa Johns, but Jess seems like a cool person. From what I gather, Jess is a lesbian. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jess-Hreniuk/173083796093049

I'm a Jesse. I prefer Jesse, but don't mind being called Jess. I get Jess Jess too. Jess isn't as popular as it used to be, but it's definitely a mans name too.

Jess is definitely short for Jessica, folks. Some of the replies on the fan page are from her personal account which has her full name and not just "Jess."

She says that she's not a dude, then she is not a dude!  She may not even be a lesbian!  Leave her alone!  I seen a lot of women of her body type that look like that and they are married to fine fellows and they have kids!   Sheesh!

Leave her alone!

NFW, she cashed the check, she sells fattening food to the fattest people on earth and works for a right-wing corporation. Now she can take the crap that comes with it.  Which in her case is half the people calling her a ->-bleeped-<- (which in the way it's being used is almost like saying that you're so ugly they have to tie raw meat around your neck to get the dog to play with you), while the other half gets off in their bunk thinking of her doing it or being naked.  And a few people like me who just think she's another corporate tool.  Nah.  She asked for that.

ProTip: If you want to be left alone, don't go on TV or run for office, when you do either (or both) of those things, all bets are off.

when i saw the video, I didn't see a transguy at all.

I saw a butch lesbian who uses Jess versus Jessica or a masculine straight girl

I will never understand the incessant need for trans-persons, no matter whether they were transsexual or transgendered, to have to know someone's personal history.

Me either.  Especially since our personal history becomes a main topic of conversation for those who know us early in transition or people who find out we once lived as our birth genders.

I don't care, Jess is cool.

Agree

She's not a trans guy, I've seen a lot of girls who look like Jess. Some girls who carry extra weight can give them an androgynous appearance, if she was reed thin she would definitely look very female, but she looks happy just the way she is!  ;D
But as others have said above, who really cares? We come in all shapes and sizes, and most people's suspicions are usually wrong. *Awkward*

I would never order Domino's regardless.  I worked for them in the summer and winter of '96 because they had a guaranteed rehire policy for college kids.  In the winter, I gave them the date that I'd be leaving my job to go back to school, but my grandmother's health declined severely a week before I was supposed to leave for school.  Three days before the date I gave to Domino's that I'd be leaving, my mom called from Illinois and told us to start driving because grandma wasn't going to make it.

The people in the store were very understanding, but when I went to corporate in the summer of '97 to start work again, the lady at the front desk asked if I'd left on good terms.  I said yes, but that I'd had to leave three days earlier because my grandmother passed away.  Her response was, "Oh, we get a lot of dead grandmothers at quitting time."  I walked back to the parking lot in tears and vowed I'd never touch another Domino's pizza.  Fourteen years later, I've kept that promise.

I watched the video and saw nothing amiss. I don't know anything about her except that she got a work award and goes by "Jess".

That's corporate.  My company fired for less.  A fellow tech was laid off a month after he was reprimanded for mentioning "cockroaches" on his repair ticket and the customer didn't like that.  The customer somehow got in direct contact to the one VP that headed the retail support department.  That tech was one of the several from our 24 different repair shops that got fired for that.  A lot of those units have roaches in them because the electrical parts have a charge on them and that attracts the kitchen aerosols, grease mainly.  The roaches love a place that is warm and has food available.  We could say that we cleaned the unit, but mentioning cockroaches was suicide with that company and the one VP who was very sensitive to that.  We had to warn the newbies in our shop since then.
Domino's is and was a very aggressive company when it comes to advertising.  In the 80's, they would have someone at the televised sporting and other events then with a simple sign with a Domino's logo on it and they would raise it to when the camera was panned to the crowd.  One event I noticed was the 1984 Sarajevo Olympic games.  Back then Yugoslavia was a communist country and they did not allow any kind of advertising during the game events.  No corporate logos anywhere.  During a luge event as the cameras were panning an athlete going down, the camera followed the athlete around a sharp corner and got the crowd watching just a few meters from the track.  A Domino's sign appeared for a few seconds, with a fellow in front of that crowd.  When the next athlete went down around that same curve, the shot was a lot tighter.  I always wondered what happened to that guy.  Jailski?
I wasn't too fond of their product.  I've gotten better pizzas from our local restaurants.  Pepperoni and mushrooms, please.
  Joelene.

OMG LOL. That is so crazy because I thought the EXACT same thing when I saw Jess on the commercial! Either FTM or butch lesbian, because I noticed no binding really. But either or I thought it was awesome of course :) Idk why but Pizza hut is disguisting here. Dominos has changed drastically here though, they used to be greasy and really gross, but now everything's improved 100% and, its super cheap!

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who had  "Wait a second..." moment.

On the pizza note, I effin' hate Pizza Hut. Its mushy and just blah. Dominos around here isn't half bad, but home made will always win out for me.

Homemade all the way, except for one local place that makes one with chicken and green bell peppers, delicious.

When I was moving into my new place, I was too tired to look up local pizzerias, so I ordered a couple of pizzas from Dominos. I hadn't had one in maybe twenty years.

It may well be the only pizza that improves when you eat it straight from the fridge.

See now, with your correction there I end up parsing the sentence as saying that perhaps it's the pizza that might be trans.  :D
