ooooh my gawd.... I had a big crush on Dick Van Dyke when i was growing up. I had watched Mary Poppins over and over again and then moved to a few other movies with him or his TV show.
As I got older I figured out it wasn't just Dick that I loved, it was the style of guy. When i was 13 my dad had an electrition in to do some work and this guy was just a gas. He wasn't macho but still had this air about him that said not only he could fix any electrical problem but if he was in my life everything would be ok.
Even now, i still like to keep guys around me that are softer in life (not macho), intellegent, witty, smiles a lot but could strip an engine in a blink (or w/e repair/construction project).
I've even found myself trying to model my male life as such.
