Intruder alert. Not really, I'm pre everything and will continue to be for a long time, but I need the info from transpeople who have 'been there and done that.'

If I am correct, testosterone does a pretty good job at 'shrinking' your hips.

But how noticeable is the change? Do the hipbones somehow appear to get smaller even if you have almost no fat over them - by the fat moving upwards (filling space) and neglecting the entire hip area? Obviously they also stand out much less from the widening of the shoulders, but still.

And is there any surgery to trim them down a tad? (Although if there is, I doubt it can take off over a centimeter.)

I know everyone's body is different, but I just need info on what happens to the 'average' person.

Cheers.

The bones stay where they are and I don't know of any surgeon who would dare mess with otherwise functional hip bones for cosmetic purposes.

Testosterone will help remove some fat from the hips and if that plus working out still isn't enough, there is liposuction.

I recently posted a full-body pre-T to 2+ year on T photo comparison for an MtF in the Just for Us section: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,104223.0.html

I still want to lose more hip fat, but am pretty happy with just the progress that has been made so far.

I know what you mean, although I heard about some surgery. I cannot really recall all the details, just noticed some dude talking about it. I have to say I was surprised.

Just freaking out over the idea of my hips preventing me from looking the way I wish to.

you will still have the hips but its more like an optical illusion.

there will be alittle less fat around your hips so in that way your hips will get smaller,
but I think the diffence is more in genrala that you get less fat around the hips and alittle more around your stomack, witch will make the diffence between hips and body seam smaller.
its the same with the shoulders, you wont get widers shoulders but they can look that way because you will gain more mucles in them and suchs.

I have comparison pictures which may or may not be accurate due to different posing, different cameras, different lighting, etc. I've weighed about the same (+- 5 lbs since starting testosterone)
This picture is my bare back after about 3 months on T
This is my back after about 6 months on T
This is my back after about 9 months on T

Changes aren't very dramatic so far. One of the doctors that performs top surgery (Garramore?) has a mansculpting option which removes fat from the hip area.
