"Dancing With the Stars" aims for provocative casts, and Chaz Bono's addition to the show has already yielded strong reaction -- some of it ugly.

Bono, the only child of Sonny Bono and Cher, was born a woman but legally changed his gender and name last year. The announcement Monday that he would join the highly rated ABC dance competition immediately made him one of the highest-profile transgendered people in the world.

Oh yea, having some one on the show that can show their true feelings is completely damaging and may endanger children...--- That is total sarcasm by the way, who cares.  Chaz is living the life he wants to, good for him; people should be proud.

Seeing that a fair percentage of the men on the show are gay, I guess having a straight man involved is a bit much.
For goodness sake America grow up!

It's always been a popularity show, not a dancing show.  If you want real dancing there are better shows (America's Best Dance Crew), or you get season tickets to the ballet.  I mean in what universe do you put Chaz up against Ron Artest (NBA All-Star, Defensive Player of the Year, Champion) or Hope Solo (3 time All-American, Olympic Gold Medal winner - who is partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who made Kirstie Alley look good) in what amount to an athletic competition, except for the lutz?

And for the same reason that Bristol Palin managed to make it to the finals, Chaz will be gone in the blink of an eye.  Mark my words: sometime within the first three episodes, no matter how well he does.

Well they took away his gay/lesbian vote by putting Carson Kressley and Nancy Grace on .

Don't worry... they'll come back to vote for the trans person later.

(Did I just say that out loud?) >:-)

Chaz is gone long before the other two are.  NG has a huge fan base that matches the demographic of the show, and CK can dance, bet on it.
