I would like to have some curves but my body refuses to gain weight. My mum and dad were super skinny my age and only gained some weight when they were in there late 20's hehe

I'm like 119 or 120 pounds and i'm like 5ft10.5, maybe us girls who are skinny could try out modelling :D

Men prefer curvy ladies  ::)

http://www-weightgainsupplement.com/1770/how-to-gain-weight-for-women-how-to-go-from-skinny-to-curvy-and-place-on-weight-rapid/

But what do ladies prefer? On topic, I'm 5'9" and I hover around 190lbs. I'm not happy about my weight, too much on the thighs and belly. The hips, however, are coming along nicely. Saving up for a house right now, and once I have one I think I'll buy a fancy running contraption to try and get my problem areas down. Oh, and I've been told I have a killer butt, as in I have one  :-*.

That is extremely offensive. I would find a new therapist that's more body positive towards how you look right now. i'm sure your body is fine. But of course the more weight we have on our body the more shifting you may see on hormones. Because, hormones will re-distribute your weight. I happen to be quite skinny myself and would also prefer more curves but if my therapist told me to think about gaining some weight, which is ultimately criticizing my body in the storm of unhappiness i was feeling at the time, i would have walked right out. Also because i know that I can not gain weight. My body is the way it is. I have enough unrealistic expectations by having gender identity disorder as it is.

I almost became a model at one point.  Got scouted by one of the top agencies in the city, but when I went in and they measured me, they liked everything but my height.  I missed being 6' by only 3/4", and runway models had be 6' to 6'2". :(  And so it never happened... gave me a serious height complex for years.

Yeah i know it was kinda rude of her to say that to me. I think maybe she said that cuz she is infact over-weight herself. I have nothing against people that are over-weight both my mom and grandma are in that category. I went home and looked in my full length mirror for awhile and thought about what she said & to be honest i would prolly benefit from gaining a few pounds in those areas, but either way skinny or curvy i still rocked that outfit. I should have taken a pic, oh well.  :D

Well should I consider my self like, fortunate. I am somewhat thin 164lbs at 6' but can't wait to get to 150lbs although I can see how, when I loose a bit of poundage my boobs and butt start to diminish. As a middle aged male, right before start of transition I was 217lbs, totally strait as a board, no butt, no waist, beefy bloke now after 8 months of HRT and 4 years of low calorie diet I am curvy to the point of having my hips almost the width of my back and I think almost as skinny as I would want to be getting into size 6 jeans but comfortable in 8's. So, I sort of have both. Now if I only had this fantastic face to go along with my body.....................................................................:)

I was lucky enough to have a very good friend in the top agency in the city at the time. The people I met were mostly very nice, although some were a little more judging of other people. Training can be expensive, and it can be difficult to get jobs, but it's a lot of fun. I would do it again in a heart beat.

Getting into modelling is really not terribly difficult so long as you can meet what they're looking for. Though, there's models all sizes and ages needed for many different reasons. All you need to do is speak with an agent to get started with training.

However, sometimes they have open calls. At those they'll scout a specific look for a job. Those are open to everyone, but they're difficult to get, and you should know your stuff before going. Having the right look is obviously important, but being confident in what you're doing is equally important. I was turned down for two open calls because I wasn't confident enough yet.

@ Zoe

That's for runway, you could have done plenty of other stuff. :) Now though you're the perfect height for runway.

I think it's possible to be skinny AND curvy!  However, if it were skinny and non-curvy vs a little pudgy and curvy I'd go with the latter on most days.  Have you ever noticed how your opinions change on different days, though?  Like, sometimes I'll see a girl whose curvy look awesome in an outfit and want to be like her.  Other times, I'll see a skinny girl look great and want to be like her.  About 2 months ago, I started to eat much more in an attempt to gain weight and it worked!  8 pounds in about 1 month.  However, it was really hard to point out where the fat had gone, until my brother commented (and kept going on) about how my legs looked all fat and like lady-ish.  Eating so much was just hard, though.  Forcing yourself to constantly eat and never being truly hungry because you're always eating is not enjoyable and totally not worth it to gain weight.

But yeah, curvy all the way!

Personally I would set* a maximum ideal at 36" hip width, because after that is when fat starts to hang off and create awful looking shadows throughout the skin.

Just to correct myself I meant set not sex, but it makes sense either way haha.

If you're skinny when you're young, you'll look great when you're older  ;)

Right on! ;D  I'm far more comfortable at 140 pounds than I was at 100, even if my anorexic brain tells me that 100 was too fat.  I consciously try to tune out the looks of super-skinny girls so that my mind doesn't force me back into starvation.  My feminine ideal has true curves, healthy arms and legs, and isn't afraid to have a little bit of a belly.  Her face has healthy cheeks, not sunken ones.

This helps me every day to eat when my brain tells me not to. :)  And now that I'm starting to see my ideal embodied in myself, it's so much easier to tell anorexia to shut the hell up.  It'll probably never go away--the calorie counting, extreme exercising, voice of punishing culinary restraint--but so long as I see a healthy, beautiful, happy woman staring back at me in the mirror, the rest doesn't matter.  I'd rather have attractive, smooth, and plump upper arms than the upper arms I had two years ago, which were bony and small enough that I could touch my thumb to my index finger when I wrapped my hands around them.  I looked sick and I was sick, only a missed meal or two from heart failure.

At my current height (6,2) i have had any weight and body type between 225 and muscular and a concentration camp chic 110pounds. Over the last 2 years i got rid of the muscle bulk what brought me down to 175 pounds, feels much better of course :D
since i am getting closer to accept my body as raw material to work with opposed to shutting everything remotely related with body out my attention has shifted: i have always felt too massive/tall, now its more things like my lack of hips that catch my eye. Well, i canwork on that....

I'm 36-27-36, 135lbs and 6'1". (Built like a stick.) I like being slender, but I want the 10lbs I need to not be underweight - especially since weight I gain tends to go to my hips, ass and chest, which could use it. But I'm still bleeding weight from muscle loss in my upper body, so I'm kind of just treading water at the moment.

I'm what is described as a pure ectomorph body type. So I better like being thin, cause curvy just isn't in the cards. Sometimes you have to be happy with what you've got.

Screw this, i'm starting a sushi tofu diet. =/ A friend of mine started on this diet and lost alot of weight. According to her it's high in protein which fills you up faster and is very low in calories which is always a plus in my book. I NEED to be in the 130-ish range for me to feel comfortable so yeah curves can wait.  :D

Although i was going to ask my endo about starting progesterone, maybe it will help in the curves department?  :eusa_think:

I am, and would rather be, an "athletic curvy" but it's not really an option because my ribcage is a little too large to be truly skinny.  My build is relatively athletic at 37-31-42, 6'1" and 163ish pounds (assuming I measured right).  Apparently my butt is very nice and I'm a large 36A or small 36B up top so I don't have far to go for my ideal.  Currently need to lose down to 155 and start wearing a corset to shrink my ribcage and waist 2-3 inches.

Wish I had advice as far as gaining curves goes.  Seems to be pure genetics with some luckier than others - and several wishing they were opposite of what they are.  Just like hair. :)

i would have to say curvy because lets face it, men don't have curves it's what makes us unique to men and also what men like in us.
you only get 1 life so forget the haters and live it how you want to <3
