Get more sleep, or try to eat something.

I suffer from CVS (Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome), and my hormones seem to exacerbate it some. I've come up with all kinds of ways to keep the episodes of my CVS from flaring up. Because if they do, I could be vomiting for weeks with no food and very little liquid intake.

I eat as soon as I wake up first of all. I don't normally eat breakfast, but I make it part of my routine now because this is the biggest preemptive way to prevent an episode.

When I feel myself getting too nauseous, I'll lie down on my couch and watch television to try to relax the nausea away.

If it starts getting critical I take the coldest shower I can, because the sensation of the cold water on my body is enough of a shock to distract me long enough from my nausea so that my CVS doesn't flare up. Taking cold showers works even better in the winter, when the water gets -very- cold. I don't do it for very long, but the shock is what is necessary.

I have a few other tricks too. But those are the big ones.
