I'm 10 months on T.  Ever since 4 or so months I've been experiencing pain similar to period cramps but somehow more constant and deeper.  It's like an all over ache in my lower abdomen.  It happens at least a few times a month, sometimes a few times a month.  I know I probably need a hysto but I have no money, insurance, and really I don't want to have a hysto right now for personal reasons, but sometimes the pain is so bad (between a 4 and 6 on the pain scale of 10) that I want it.

Have you or do you experience pain like this?  How do you manage it?

that sucks, i know of a guy who got a cyst on one of his ovaries after being on T for over a year. he is getting a hysto he said he had abdominal pain that got really bad.

mm

I haven't started on T yet. I get bad cramps every month was hoping that T would stop them.  I would sure like to be rid of all those extra parts and not have to worry about getting those internal pains, a hyster is far in the future for me I am afraid.  I definitely feel for your situation.

I didn't have uterine pain while on T.  I had nasty pain prior to T--honestly would call it a 10 on my personal 1-10 scale of pain, but I've always been very intolerant of anything that reminded me of those parts, so maybe it seemed worse than it objectively was.  I couldn't stand up, think clearly, sleep, and painkillers or heating pads didn't work, at any rate.  The pain went away as soon as T suppressed those parts; 1-2 weeks after my first shot was the last time they hijacked my body.

So yeah... that sucks hardcore.  What sucks even more is my advise: please, if there is any way you can (I know you said no insurance and no money), get it checked out.  Having pain like that cannot indicate good things and it's been six months.  Can you consult whatever doctor is administering your T--would they be able to help you with resources?

As for pain management, until the pain started getting out-of-hand for me, Extra Strength Tylenol and a heating pad on my abdomen used to work.  But once the pain stopped feeling like stop-and-go cramps and turned into constant, stabbing pain that would last up to 36 hours straight, the heating pad actually made things feel worse.

My bad when i said no insurance I meant none that would cover a hysto.  I have some that will cover normal doc's visits.  I will call an make an appointment tomorrow.

I used to have sharp, severe and I mean severe pain (like someone was sticking a hot poker up there.)  Well, it turned out to be cysts.  My doctor recommended reducing my caffeine intake as it made the cysts more painful, this seemed to help.

I get this pain too mate, I'm almost 2 years on T. It comes and goes as it sees fit - no pattern, no set lasting time etc. In regards to the hysto - I went to the GP, he made some calls and I got a referral to the local hospital (women's and children's section ::) eek!) and they have no problem with my case and why I want a hysto (lower my dose of T, my GID diagnosis, change birth cert etc) and because I'm still 'F' with medicare, they are going to do it via the public health system (no cost to me!) but I have to wait 3-6months on the waiting list - big deal to the wait I say if it saves me like 10K+!! Do you guys have a similar way to go about things - like via the public sector?? FWIW I also had ultra sound to check and all fine so no cysts causing my pain (think my ovaries are just angry, we never did have a good rapport - I've never liked them :D lol) and well I'm not willing for any other tests so I'd just rather it all gone.

Heat packs, anti inflamms seem to help for me but nothing makes it go away I just have to ride it out.. Usually curled up in bed, rolling in agony wishing it would stop! :-\

I do believe it is probably cysts on my ovary.  I have only one ovary (my other was removed due to a cyst killing it when I was 14).  Spring of 2010 I hadn't began hormones yet and had a period that was light but lasted for about a month.  The doctor ran some ultrasounds and found that there was a small cyst on my ovary but thought it would probably go away on it's own or pop while still small and wouldn't cause any problems.  Now I'm not sure if T caused the cyst to grow or what.  I'm going to go to the doctor as soon as I can get an appointment
