"To Die Like a Man" is a haunting musical/drama that questions what it means to be a man. It explores the life of Tonia (Fernando Santos), a transsexual at the cusp of her sexual reassignment surgery. As she questions the decision, her tumultuous relationships challenge the life she's chosen for herself. The film has grotesquely beautiful moments and disturbingly poetic musical numbers. It will definitely challenge what you expect from films.

Tonia is a Lisbon drag queen whose star is slowly fading. She contemplates finally making the big switch to becoming a full-fledged woman. A slave to her junkie boyfriend Rosario (Alexander David), she can do no right by him and is consistently disappointed.
