Everything in this note is true and factual...this is not a fictional story.

I worked at the Baltimore International Airport during this time as well as acting as a hospice person for an elderly woman who was dying to supplement my income with the Reformed Episcopal Church I was working at in Elicott City, MD.

To be honest, I would have truly forgotten about 9/10 if this event that night never happened to me.

I worked for The Museum Company at the airport and we sold Jewelry, artwork, sculptures and other similar items. I had about an hour and a half left of work and the airport was not very busy as it was getting late.  We had gotten all types of people in that store. I had only been there for about 5 months and I met people such as Sally Fields, Lawrence Fishburne, Selma Hayek, and others.

However, this one guy was probably the most interesting; an older man with a very long beard dressed in Rabbinic robes had walked into the store. It was something straight out of "The Ten Commandments."  We started talking and I soon discovered he was a Rabbi from Israel on his way to Iceland but interestingly enough, he was Messianic...meaning he believes Jesus as the Messiah but he still practices the Jewish days and months. I told him I was in the ministry as well and it got his attention.
So, we were talking and he was very excited. He had just landed a deal with NBC to do a documentary on "the alternate route of Exodus."  He had said The History Channel signed an agreement with James Cameron and NBC wanted their slice of the pie too.

At first, I found this Rabbi to be a little whimsical and eccentric at times but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. After he had shown me pictures of some of the NBC footage on his Palm (remember those little things), I asked him a question "So what is your theological stance on the end time?"

The man then got very serious. I wont go into great detail but for the next hour he told me his own belief of the end times in which Jesus willl come back.  He mentioned that the US will have to go to war in the Middle East and attack countries suck as Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and others. That this would be a build up of tension that would lead up to a ass assault (yes, he really said ass assault) on Israel and then God would intervene.

Now, of course, this seems like something right from a movie or the world's best conspiracy theorist. he mentions the Jewish Calendar year and the time of Rest. He REALLY went into detail. I told him my beliefs were vastly different than his....Im not into the whole world blowing up belief. He just smiled and continued:

The thing that caught my attention was this statement he made "In order for the US to attack the Middle East, something profound has to happen not since the day of Pearl Harbor."

I asked him, "so when do you think this attack will happen?"

He replied, "soon. I don't know when exactly. Maybe sometime this year or next month or maybe even tomorrow. But whatever it is, will be an attack on US Soil that will cause a domino effect to occur to make this all happen."

His flight was called and he grabbed his bags and thanked me for the conversation.

The next morning, I went back to work to open. I was there for only 20 minutes before security made an announcement that all airports were being closed down due to plane hijackings. The first plane hit the trade tower as I walked past the first security checkpoint on my way out. There was about 5 Television screens and over a hundred of us saw it. You could hear a pin drop.

"Oh my god." I thought. "That old man had everything figured out."

Because of my logistical side of me (that always love to fight my spiritual side), I called the FBI office to let them know what had happened.  I didn't know if he had anything to do with it or not. I mean, it is not everyday that a Rabbi predicts a US soil attack that will rival Pearl Harbor and it possibly happening tomorrow.....and it actually happens.  The FBI, understandably, was busy as hell but they took my name, number, and my concerns and said if there was any leads on this they will call me back for further information.

I never got a call back.

For the last ten years, this old Rabbi by the name of Michael has always been in my mind. I often wondered if he scared the hell out of himself on the morning of 9/11 when he arrived in Iceland only to find out his predictions came true.

Annah, Michael seems to have been spot on about his prophecy. I'm no prophet but after the trade center was attacked in 1993, I said that the towers would be hit again. On 9/11,.I was supposed to be in the train station of the north tower which was first hit. I was delayed because some glitches in some equipment. I know that God had his hand on me that day.
Be who you are.

Right wing christians have been saying this kind of stuff for decades. If you can wait enough years, something will always happen that you can make force-fit your prophecy. Bear in mind that some of them have tried to influence events to make it happen.

well he has a good track record at guessing then because he has accurately described, in order, every country the US will attack and the time periods after the attack on US soil in which the specific order of the countries he named.

How many of us could honestly say "yeah within the next day to a year there will be a US attack on our soil not since the days of Pearl Harbor and our first country we will attack will be Afghanistan followed by Iraq with Pakistan as an uneasy ally?"

That's one helluva coincidence.

Your Rabbi was almost right, what will happen is that terrorists won't give up and eventually, someday soon, they will get a nuke through and take out one of our (US) cities. Which will be awful, but still leaves you with 300 million really mad Americans. The retalitory strike will be the Armageddon, taking out all the old religious sites, and incidentally breaking our dependence on foreign oil in one stroke.

The conservative think tanks had that plan all layed out for ten or twenty years before 9/11 gave them an excuse to implement it. It didn't take a lot of prophecy to read the documents that were freely available.

Today's happenings do have a ring in prophecy, but you still have to be careful when dealing with Bible prophecy.  An old radio preacher by the name of J. Vernon McGee got me off of the Cold War as linking to the prophecy in Revelations and Daniel.  He went on to say that when right after WWII, that he made a bet with his congregation that they can collect tracts, papers, books etc. of the 'End Times' that will fill a wheelbarrow in that next year.  At the end of that year, the congregation proved him wrong by bringing him two wheelbarrows full of different End Times publications!
You will get a spate of End Times stuff every time a major event happens such as 9-11.  However, this is the first time I read about these spates that the prophecy interpretations are mainly Middle Eastern based and not the US or the European Union as the land of the Beast.  This has been picking up since the first gulf war.  I just read Walid Shoebat's book and almost all of the interpretations in that book are in the Middle East.

My dad, christian/conservative, has been saying that for decades.  It's all in The Book of Revelation if you interpret it a certain way.  I'm sure he feels like everything is falling into place.  In my opinion, that interpretation requires some extreme stretching of logic, even if you've already stretched far enough to believe in most of the things in the bible.

Also, war with the middle east has been inevitable pretty much since the invention of the internal combustion engine.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see if this apocalyptic prediction comes true.  Such things have a poor track record so far lol.

In my opinion, yes, quite a coincidence, but a coincidence nonetheless.

*Sigh

It was suppose a story and not a theological discourse on eschatological accuracies.

Gotta love it when some feels the need to take something apart because they don't believe in it.

I do not believe in the apocalypse according to Revelation but it was a story about an encounter that happened to me in an airport.

If you don't believe in whatever, fine. But don't feel the need to rip a story apart. I knew it was foolish to post this on here anyways (even tho I put it on a religious section). People love to nitpick the hell out of things here regardless of the subject. Do you all come into the religious section only to tell them how wrong they are?

I practice witchcraft and you will never see me take apart someone's religious post like this on a Christian or any other religious section of this or any other forums. It's just inconsiderate.

I didn't mean to be taking your story apart.  Reading back how I worded things I can see how you would take it that way, so I'm sorry for how I sounded.  I will stay out of religious threads from now on.  I always get into trouble when I end up in sections in which I don't belong.

Thanks for a very interesting post, Annah. I'd reply but it would cause too many problems. :)

Oh man, I was so intrigued by your story, I almost drooled.

This is pretty intense, since you have met a man who shared his prophecy with you right before the day of the actual event. I do hope, however, that you aren't too worried about it.

Michael is a rather interesting character. You're lucky to have met him. c:

Respectfully speaking I think that's very wrong. Who is going to nuke a US city, perhaps you could give me an idea? No one has any interest in doing so. As for even thinking of "taking out all the old religious sites" as you put it don't even think about it.

Really bad stuff, I thought Christianity was about love.

Many evangelicals want this to happen to bring about the end times and to bring back jesus. Its what they really seek. I am not saying they are right or wrong. Its just something that would make their life meaningful. Its a big reason why many people vote republican because they feel the republicans will force this great war verses the democrats. They even think the democrats are evil for wanting peace. I have family members who own large businesses and spend their profits in support of this armegedon. They raise their children and grandchildren to be ready for this.

On the other hand i had just driven thru the towers by accident  on 9-09 as i was traveling from connecticut after helping a MTF with her house for trans people with aids. Then i stopped in brooklyn at transyhouse and continued on to NJ where i made some tomato sauce and sausages and canned them and then the next morning was 9-11 and i drove back to NY and got to the jacob javits center and volunteered there under the walkway bridge that colapsed. I wrote what happened to me in this blog which i could only find thru web.archives.org = My 3 days at WTC = http://web.archive.org/web/20080118134747/hometown.aol.com/danielegrl/myhomepage/news-crisis.html

OK, I'm guilty of doing exactly what Zoe mentioned, replying to the topic, not the area where the thread is posted. My first post in this thread is out of place in a Spirituality forum. I apologize, but I'm leaving the post up, we get enough revisionist history here already. @ Mimpi, I don't claim to represent Christianity, nor do I practice it. @ Annah, sorry for fouling your thread, but my second post stands, lighten up! Hugs, Tracey

Annah,
I enjoyed your post young lady.
While we can not be sure, I too met a Michael while in Israel who disappeared before my eyes.
If you look at scripture it is Michael that typically warns and foretells whereas Gabriel brings tidings.
I am one that does feel that the signs of the times are all around us and that now is the time when people should make surer their soul is right with God.
On the day when the towers came down I had a feeling that it was a major point in the beginning of the end and that the Lord would be returning soon.
Even though many will not believe it and ridicule those who do believe.
Take care kiddo.
